What's the best way to get from airport to hotel on the strip if it's just the girl and I?

is taxi the way to go or is there some other really cheap/reliable shuttles?

Taxi.

There are so many that go there that you just line up and your wait will be less than 5 mins if there is even a wait at all.

Depending where you are staying on the strip, the price for fare is about $15-$20 so at $10 a head, it's the best price you'll find.

I usually rent a car.

CRS 09-22-2013 12:21 PM

Better question is, where will you be going while in Vegas? Are you going to stay on the strip/outlet shopping?

If you're not going to hoover dam or the grand canyon there is really no reason to get a car because you can walk (through streets or hotels) or take the bus (air conditioned) to all places.

+1 on the car. Allows you to do so much more without restrictions of cab fare.

Obsideon 09-24-2013 08:58 PM

Renting a car is very convenient and pretty cheap, picked it up at the airport. Load everything into the car and off we go.
Parking is abundant and free at every hotel. The hotels may "appear" to be close to each other because of their giant signs but trust me it will take at least 15-20min walk to each hotel. Much worse if it's scorching hot outside too.

CRS 09-25-2013 10:06 AM

Make sure you get the proper coverage for your rental car though in terms of insurance!

The thing that's a big put off for me was that my CCs didn't have third party and I would've had to get the rental company's insurance which would have doubled the cost.

iEatClams 09-25-2013 10:09 PM

seems like taxi is the way to go, wont be going outside of the strip so taxi it is.

Fafine 09-25-2013 11:39 PM

Ya taxi are plenty. And for traveling on the strip since it's just the two of you, might want to consider the bus, they have 24 hour passes for like 7 or 8$.

It seems a lot of cc's don't have 3rd party, if you have roadside plus or road star coverage from ICBC it will takecare of the 3rd party, collision & comprehensive coverage for rental cars.

This is the best thing to get, saves so much money and takes any doubt away. It also shuts the guys behind the counters up when they try to sell you insurance.

Some decent deals to be had for hotels if anyone is planning on going to vegas.

MGM Resorts International®

It's really expensive, but Machine Gun Vegas has a mini-gun to shoot now

I went there last year, extremely good service.

They were rated #1 Gun place this year, and they deserve it. Hot chicks + guns + knowledgeable staff + free bus to drive you + free beer after + great customer service.

daval 12-05-2013 01:28 PM

By the way, i have a Fast Lap-Las Vegas - Paradise Go Kart coupon available that worths $80usd, i am going to sell it for cheap if any of you guys are interested in this coupon.

Keep looking for good deal on car rental as I was able to score $240 for 1 week rental on Luxury class car. The choices were G37, 300c, and CTS. I picked Cadillac. Decent power, but not the most comfortable seats. I wouldn't drive it for longer than few hours unless I want a back pain.

Stayed at Aria during the stay. At first I didn't choose to upgrade and the room was very disappointing. The bed was very uncomfortable as it sank a lot in the middle. I went to lobby to complain and instead of getting another room, I decided to pay extra $50 for upgrade to junior suite. Junior suite came with jet tub, panoramic view, bidet, two mini freeze instead of one, and few other perks including welcoming chocolate treats and razors & shaving cream. Definitely worth extra $50 unless you just want to party out all day and night and not spend more than few hours in hotel. One thing though.. I saw a cockroach in my suite on the last day of the stay. I took picture and showed it at front desk and they were very apologetic and waived resort fees.

forgot to give feedback on taxi's while I was there. Holy fck do those latino taxi drivers try to long haul you or what? I took 3 trips in total.

first trip from the airport to hotel and even though they didnt take the highway, she did some loop around shiet and it came to $22 dollars. Based on normal fares online - should be around ~16-17. Then she had the right to say, it's $22 PLUS TIPS. I delayed giving her the cash until after she opened the trunk and just gave her $22 and told her why.

2nd trip was from one end of the strip to the other. leaving the hotel, the llatino lady (different one) did a loop that kinda went behind the hotel - she made it seem like there was no direct access to the strip so had to go behind and curl around. It wasnt much but still took an uncessary 3 extraminutes and maybe 300-400 meters extra or driving.

on our way home from hotel to the strip. younger white guy. drove pretty fast, got us there pretty quickly. Cost = $14, I was soo satisfied that he didnt fcked us I gave him $20.

so airport to hotel = $22
hotel to airport = $14. that's quite a difference.

What time did you arrive and what time did you leave?
the cab driver could've taken different route to avoid traffic jam. It gets really bad sometimes. When I rent car in Vegas, depending on the time of the day, I often take long route to avoid traffic and it IS faster to go around in many cases.

Airport to hotel also has an additional airport fee.

I noticed that when I went to the hotel my price was 22 and on the way back to the airport, it was only 18.

Going to be visiting Vegas on my 21st later this month with SO + another couple and we're planning to stay at the Mandalay. Any words on this or suggested alternatives for roughly the same price (I believe it is...$125~ a night)? How should we go abouts for clubbing as well? Do the lineup or is bottle worth it for 4 (do they have a minimum on weekends? haha)?
Oooooo and any deals that may not be advertised and I should be aware of? :D
Thanks in advance!

daval 12-11-2013 06:26 PM

I dont think table is worth it for 4 especially with 2 couples.

Mandalay is a nice hotel, no question. When we made our way down there, we quite enjoyed it. The only issue is that it's at the south end of the strip, which isn't a big deal for some.

If you're planning to visit a lot of the casinos, I'd suggest staying more mid-strip.

Last time I was there, I stayed at Aria. Nice spot, but didn't feel it was worth the money.

I'm going again in Jan, and we're staying at New York, New York. Got a decent deal through expeidia for a strip view room, so I'm not gonna complain. I really enjoyed being fairly close to most major casinos.

^ I been twice and both times to new York new York. Love that hotel. Get their pizza. Best pizza I've had in north america.

I'm going next week, dec 16-19. Flamingo for $25/night + resort fee (during the week and promo code). Gonna try the $20 sandwich and get upgraded but I'm not really gonna be in the room much so no big deal. You can also easily get planet hollywood for 50-80/night if you look hard enough online.

I want to get bottle service with 2 buddies but they're too cheap lol. Since you're going right before Xmas, make sure to check if the club you want to go to is even open. I know some of them will be closed the days right before xmas.

If you don't want to deal with line ups you can get pre-sale tickets to get into the club, check on their websites.
