I'll definitely check out Harrahs next time, since going to Fremont is a chore and there's not much to do there.

I'm thinking of doing a last minute vacation for a week at the end of April, checking out New York and Vegas. So sad to see that New York will probably cost me ~$2500-3000, while Vegas would only be ~$1000-1500.

I think the price was either 9.99 or 11.99. There is Ellis Island that has a 24 hour steak special with potato and beans for $4.99. Ellis Island is located directly behind Bally's and since we stayed at the Flamingo it was very close

Any tips and stuff for the clubs? Pure, Tao, Jet etc?

Caesars Palace is nice, I stayed there in Jan. No cover to Pure if you show your room card.

KChen 03-19-2008 02:52 PM

3 nights, $1900 for both including flight & hotel... we're goin from thurs-sun, but wont be there til thurs 1030pm cuz we both gotta work... so its kinda a waste of a night. but hey! vegas never sleeps rite?

chynado11 03-19-2008 04:00 PM

kinda of off topic but what what or where would you recommend to buy these packages to vegas? is it better off online or at a travel agency?

You gotta compare prices and go with the package that you think is the best deal. Prices change constantly so just because one place is offering it for $500 doesn't mean it'll be the same tomorrow.

Meowjin 03-20-2008 09:53 AM

Doesn't matter for me anymore. I gambled so much at luxor and planet hollywood that I got letters telling me to call them and they will give me free stay, limo service and 400 dollars in promotional gaming chips.

I thought I posted this, but I guess not.

chynado11 if you book with a travel agent and the prices on airfare and/or hotel go down you can't get it at the lower price, whereas if you book each separately you can call the hotel and they'll adjust your stay for the lower price. Plus if you're going to be gambling a lot you won't get comps if you book through an agency, but if you book separately and gamble a lot you might be able to get a night or more comped.

GF and I was gonna head to Spearmint Rhino but it cost $30 to go in so we decided not to. Hell...we could have paid more and gotten our own private dancer if we wanted to :mamoru:

I liked the Wynn buffet the most. The ingredients were fresh, service was excellent and it's very nice and clean inside.

Yeah Allegiant Air is good... but their airport is in Bellingham.
My boyfriend and I booked tickets for 3 nights at Imperial Palace in August and it cost us $359 each incl tax (mind you this was during a seat sale)... now for the same trip it costs over $500 each excluding tax.

Keep an eye out for sales at Allegiant (www.allegiantair.com) and also Westjet.

jlo mein 03-26-2008 10:45 PM

August is one of the cheapest times of year to go, its a great deal as long as you try to avoid staying outdoors for long periods of time during the day. The deals for August may not look so great now but in a few months prices will really drop.

vwdarling 03-27-2008 01:19 PM

why is it the cheapest in August usually? Is it just because of the weather?
(Not that I'm complaining :p)

I would assume so. With as many people that go to Vegas, from what I've heard not as many go in August because it gets over 110'F

so, maybe they don't care about the hotel as most people only use it to sleep. I have heard of some people who are happy with the hotel

vwdarling 03-27-2008 04:16 PM

exactly...
who cares about the hotel when you're gonna be off doing other things anyway

Yea it all depends on your take on things. In vegas chances are you won't be in your room often, shower, sleep a few hours and that's about it. Me personally i'm picky with hotels so Imperial Palace is too ghetto for me. However, for other IMperial would be awesome. Location wise it is in the middle of the strip and it's cheaper then most of the other hotels. So not too bad if you don't care if the hotel isn't that great.

On a side note going to Vegas next Friday. Staying at Caesars Palace. Will post after my trip.

Spending a shitload of money on a hotel is the biggest waste of money in Vegas. You're only in there to sleep, shower and take a shit and seriously...who the fuck sleeps when they're in Vegas? My gf usually sleeps early and gets 7-8 hours of sleep regularly. We were in Vegas for 4 nights and we only slept a total of 12 hours

Imperial Palace might not be a Caesar's Palace but the location is perfect.

Let us know how your stay at Caesar's Palace is. I spent most of my time inside that hotel because it's just so full of awesome.
