Naomi, her eyes are striking!

stuff99 08-20-2007 11:35 PM

guys you got any tips for me to rid the yellowishness in photos when taken under florescent lighting?

Senna4ever 08-20-2007 11:49 PM

Set your WB to flourescent...or use an Expodisc or similar tool. A white Pringles lid works great.

Picture 1: Split lighting idea is good. Need to bring the light a little more 90 degree to you as the spill over from the nose is distracting

Picture 2: I"m not fond of the lighting to be under your face for this one. The light does not make the photograph. This may be because you didn't have a stand to put it on and in that case you may want to find something higher to put it on.

Picture 3: The double shadow is caused by a lamp light from a garage or something? Your source light needs to be a little stronger to wash out the other shadow.

Sorry for the late reply.

Shot #1 is great....maybe a closer crop would be better. Liking that macro lens, I see. :)

Thank you sir :) Actually I was using my 24-105 L IS lens. *drool* hehe

ColinK 08-23-2007 12:55 PM

holy damn! That's a nice lens!

niforpix 08-23-2007 01:14 PM

Thanks! :D My bank account was empty for a while after the purchase of that lens... haha

naomi 08-23-2007 01:35 PM

I love looking at bug shots. Maybe it's because I never have the patience to take them myself. Haha.

niforpix 08-23-2007 01:39 PM

I've been lucky to get a great shot of an ant and a fly that I posted a while back... My next goal: spider :D

niforpix 08-23-2007 01:41 PM

Macro for life!

I like the over all shot... but there is something that bothers me, and I can't figure out what... :S Is it the lighting maybe?

Ah, ok....that bokeh didn't seem right to me. Now I know why. Not shitting on the 24-105, but the bokeh didn't seem as smooth as a macro lens usually is.

The model or the image of the model?? I vote the former. :lol

niforpix 08-23-2007 11:17 PM

Hmm... deja vu... I seem to remember someone posting spider webs... I just can't recall who... :p

I wanna get a good shot of the spider from the front. See how nasty they actually look hehe I'll definately need my macro for that one. Oh, and I see what you mean by the bokeh not being as smooth because I wasn't using a macro lens.
