The flower looks scared, it doesn't demand my attention. I know it's not your fault, but you should of picked a better flower.. lol

Could have been sharper too

ColinK 08-05-2007 09:37 PM

I dont like how it's so pushed up into the corner. i think a little "breathing room" would have helped.

Soundy 08-05-2007 11:21 PM

I hate it when my flowers get scared.

He means that it is shying away from the camera, and I would absolutely agree with him. Mind you Petunias are naturally a soft, and lazy flower, so to find one with good structure would be more of a feat than just photographing one. I would also agree that you've cropped it a bit too close for visual comfort, but after all... it's your photo.

I think the bokeh is interesting! What's the lens out of curiousity?

Good color depth, and for me... it is sharp enough. Without spending thousands on glass (I assume), you've done a great job with what you have.

hmmm I see- I like it alot tho - i guess me being a lazy kinda d00d this pic appeals more to me haha - i didn't want sharp - shoulda jacked up the softening a bit more.

niforpix 08-06-2007 08:51 PM

Just came back from camping at Cat Lake near Squamish...
Here are few shots I took... Don't feel like uploading photos of the lake itself at the moment... too tired... lol

ColinK 08-06-2007 09:12 PM

what focal length were you shooting?

niforpix 08-06-2007 09:30 PM

The moth I shot with my 100mm Canon macro lens, the squirell and the blue jay were shot with EF 24-105mm L lens, but I can't remember what length. I think the 2 middle ones were at 105? Does that make sense?

Soundy 08-06-2007 09:32 PM

The EXIF data should list the length the lens was at.

MikesJo 08-07-2007 04:03 PM

A bit dark on one side.

mike, your recent photos seem very saturated..
what's your monitor set up like? Unless that's what you're going for...

MikesJo 08-10-2007 11:28 PM

That last one isn't really saturated, it's more desaturated. My monitor is at half brightness and I'm working on a calibrated monitor :). Apple!

The vancouer 2010 is saturated. The last one is what I was going for. Looks ok on my comp.
