i think so also. but as you can see the guy has the same facial expression. lol its really hard to get him to feel comfortable he just hates being infront of the camera. i'm not used to posing two people also, so its all a learning experience for them and myself also.

one more thing, for some reason i get really inconsistent focusing on my 50mm 1.8

is there any way to test if the focusing on this lens is actually correct? its been a problem of mine since day 1 of having this lens.

The pics look pretty nice! Just too bad they couldn't be a bit more in focus. More sharp i guess. Overall nice tho!

Here's another pic that i took at the airport. No editing in color, just cropped.

i know theres a lot of room for improvement for this shot. it was my first attempt at combining exposures. c&c encouraged.

it'd look better if the plane was on the 1/3 of the picture. it's too much on the left side right now

the last photo is totally great in composition, but the white balance seems a little too blue. the horizon is also a little tilted, though not very much! Great try though

The one with combined exposures:
I'm no expert - actually I have yet to learn the skill of combining exposures - but it seems as if you are on the right track. The buildings seem like they are not in focus, but the clouds do - so that would be my only complaint. Maybe try having a larger depth of field?

In this picture i took it with my 17-40mm. So that wasn't an option at the time. haha.. I hear ya tho. The sky was too amazing looking. Thats what i liked about the shot.

The buildings are still overexposed given that you are combining exposures.

When combining exposures don't adjust your aperature to do so, do it with your shutter speed.

I would say that a larger fstop like f11-16 may be your best bet in this case, unless you are specifically wanting to present something in the frame as your dominant subject.

Keep at it!

I was thinking, the sharpness looks really off, but then I realized, the JPG compression is just nasty there - all kinds of artifacts around the plane and the skyline. Boostslut, could we (well, I... dunno if anyone else cares) see a version that's not compressed as much?

LOVE the colors though, what a stunning blue!

Not bad, good isolation of subject. Perhaps a little over exposed.

niforpix 07-16-2007 12:19 PM

I like it. Nice shot :)
