I don't think the background seperates them enough either. THe skin tones are pretty close to that background colour

Looks okay to me.

Nice pics Dottie!

Plane studies. 3 days of hard work. My team mates are quite creative. I complement them with the photography :). Next week we'll be modeling a house by Mies van der rohe from scratch, the Tungendhat house. I'll have photos when we finish that :).

Sweet! It that cardboard stuck with masking tape?

MikesJo 10-04-2007 01:56 AM

Bristol paper with twisted stem wire attached to the board via pierced wire and a bit of masking tape. The pink stuff is pink insulation foam :). I can't take credit for the mounting.

Senna4ever 10-04-2007 02:01 AM

Oh, I see....those dark lines are the wire, and not pencil marks? Cool.

I really like the 1st and 3rd pics Dottie! Looks great!

i like the first the most because it looks flawless. You can't see the wire, or the tape or anything of that sort and the design is pleasing to the eye.

Agreed! The different shades really enhance the 3D feel, too.

Just an attempt to capture fall :)

Nice shot, looks a bit over sharpened though. The border is so-so.

RonaldTypeR 10-04-2007 11:19 PM

Thanks! I actually didn't sharpen the image when editing, but I did use noise reduction..

Now that you mention it, it does look over-sharpened..I kept focusing on the bridge when editing that I kind of forgot about the trees hehe will definitely work on that..

Appreciate the criticism! :)

Do you?

I'm taking a class there :).

mos_skeeto 10-04-2007 11:59 PM

Used to.... I graduated. That picture of the plane model reminded me of good times cutting pink panther styrofoam into the wee night :)

Haha we did that already too. Did it all for the same day. We're onto building scale model houses now. Where abouts are you working now? Were you more focused on the design side or the technical side?

Senna4ever 10-05-2007 12:07 AM

Where can you buy the material for that plane model? Will Opus have it?

I know the fotoheads will get mad if we hijacked this thread so feel free to pm me :D

to answer your question, i'm doing I.T. work for some decently well known organization. I went through siat (interactive arts when I was doing it). I would say more technical but we kinda all did a share of everything.

Mikesjo will be able to give you a better answer as I forgot what the material is called. When I took the course, I got it from Opus and I think it was called chipboard or something like that. It came poster size, it's easy to cut and it bends decently.

^ Love the blue tones

Ran back into the house just to grab the camera and take this. The store closed because I came to late. Screw the store, it could wait, this couldn't.
