But..here i am! haha Last night I actually tried to edit photos, but nothing looks right. I need to calibrate. I did this one on the mac, not sure how i feel about it, but at least i can contribute - what do you guys think of the colours? http://img376.imageshack.us/img376/7514/img19291rq1.jpg |
Check the gamma on the Mac. The default is 1.8 - should be at 2.2 to look better and be more accurate. |

how do i check that? :) |
Oh hey! It's Zoe! How is she doing? The picture looks a bit too yellow on my just calibrated monitor. |

She's doing well :) Too yellow hey.. hmms ok. I will try Huck's calibration info and i'll play around with it (@ work now) |
A couple of quick edits from today. I think the second one is too saturated.. needs some more adjusting. I'll post up the rest of the set later in another thread.. must study biochem! YAAAAAAAR http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3194/...e30832.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3226/...2eefc3.jpg?v=0 btw.. this is my first time setting up my strobes. Needs much improvement! Your C&C is MUCH appreciated :D |
Here's one more: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3204/...c9715a.jpg?v=0 i think the shadows need some more work. |
whoa - the new calibration makes everything look 100 times different. thanks guys, ill keep playing with it. ps. the last photo - i think the white balance seems really off. I know you said you still have to work on them, but the shorts blend with his skin, in a not very flattery way. |
^^ thanks.. i think i need to calibrate my monitor as well.. either that or my eyes are just wonky. Re-adjusted the photos and uploaded them again: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3171/...fc1efb.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3045/...8c311c.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3138/...820b24.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3035/...d58156.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3038/...f684c2.jpg?v=0 |

Any comments is appreciated :) thx *picture was taken with, Canon 40D, 50mm 1.4 natural lighting. -ed |
focus more on the shirts. i think it woulda looked cool if you cropped the head and got tighter on the shirts |
The shirts don't come out that well. Perhaps dodge them a bit to highlight them more? |
|
i like the moon on the first one. Looks like a search light from a helicopter or something. the parking signs are a bit distracting though |

Try using direct flashes at more oblique angles to the subject. Maybe even a harsher back light to make the shirts pop a bit more. Gels could even help it out. Keep it up! |
