This one i did awhile back.

^^

nice! I like the movement in her hair and the contrast between the dress and the white background :D

She looks cute too!

Here's one i did for my gf and her friends in a hotel lobby. Pretty simple lighting setup: strobe reflected off an umbrella on camera right and one strobe on camera left through a shoot through umbrella.

Any comments on this one?

Which ones are single? hahaha

Honestly tho, only thing that really bugs me is the fact you cut off the feet of the girls on the left and snipped of the finger of the girl on the right.

Don't use an APS-C camera, especially the lower end ones with the postage stamp sized viewfinders.

Go into a Sony Store and check out the viewfinder of the A900 which has the largest viewfinder of any 35mm based DSLR or look into a 1Ds MKIII or D3 viewfinder. That's what viewfinders should look like.

x2. I was so spoiled by my friend's 5D that I borrowed for a week. OMG viewfinder so nice! :haha:

none of them are single :(

but yeah.. i totally agree w/ the cutting off the feet. I was kicking myself in the ass after looking at it. I need a wider angle lens (or need to stand farther back).

I know it's not a very good pic, but it's the first time I've gotten a capture of my dog being a dork.

Just a proof from an assignment in class. ( unusual strobe)
2 rim lights 45 /45 with 20degree honey grids.
1 main fill -softbox above camera.

final shot is on 16x20 and shows actual seperation from can and BG. :)

Well, got a call up Saturday from a band I know, looking to get some promo shots done, because they have a show coming up this weekend, a freshly-completed CD, and no pics to put on the cover. So last-minute yesterday, we took a trip up to the Power House at Stave Lake (their idea) and banged off a few dozen photos.

I dunno yet what they'll decide to use (they have their own Photochop guy) but here are a few I kinda liked and tweaked up:

If anyone's interested, they're playing this Saturday at the Station Square Pub, along with my buddies Liminis. Band's page is at http://myspace.com/axiomjam if you want to check out their material.

last one is my favorite. Would make for a great album cover!

The second looks amatureish compared to the first and last. The power lines are very distracting and take more away from the group than adding to them.

ColinK 11-24-2008 08:30 AM

^ what david said

Senna4ever 11-24-2008 11:23 AM

The third one. :) Cropped, it would make a great album cover, uncropped, a great promo flyer.

dspirit79 11-24-2008 02:34 PM

^ Agreed
