I meant pre-focusing is a must because the AF is so slow.

I really wanted a shot right next to the building, but the streets were poorly structured and left a lot of people BEHIND a building for viewing where as they had tons of spots they blocked off where the view was right in front of it. It was a fucking joke, I was so pissed at the police yesterday!

Meowjin 12-31-2008 07:42 PM

Neat shot Tom, you have inspired me to travel with your posts throughout the year =)

Yeah it's next to impossible to get good shots down there on a crowded day. I posted one from Xmas Day (it's on the previous page). I had to shove my way through the crowd, and even then barely got to the front. Had about 1 minute of the laser show to take my photos, luckily ended up with one good one (after cropping).

I want to go back when it's less busy for sure

Shot with a d300 at iso 6000 with a nikon 105mm f/2 defocus at f/2 and the DC set to f2 rear. God I love this lens. only problem i have is the lens hood needs to be on at all times.

d300 f/2 defocus at f/2 at iso3200 with the DIC set to f/2 rear. Also gotta say how scary sharp this lens is when you have the DIC turned off. I managed to snag this lens used for 700, and dman is it ever in mint condition.

bikerx 01-02-2009 06:42 AM

whats this DIC and DC stuff?
