X2 me too!

phatpower 02-18-2009 01:47 AM

Thanks for the feed back.

^really?

What are we supposed to be looking at? what is the subject? the wheel? fender? lines on the ground?

You're missing half the car in your shot. There's no back end, the roof line is missing, it may even be a convertible with the top down but its to dark to tell. If you want us to notice the car, get the whole thing in the frame, if you want us to notice a small part of the car, get in closer and make it the highlight of the photo.

niforpix 02-18-2009 07:56 AM

^^ agreed. It doesn't do anything for me.

If you don't mind me asking, your webpage says professional photographer. I see a lot of beginner photos from you, what makes you consider yourself a professional?

It says professional amateur photographer.. not just professional photographer. Never claim to be one if you read my page more..

I think your misleading your clients by sugar coating your experience as a photographer. By doing so you can tell them your a professional, charge them a professional rate (stated by you a while back somewhere in a thread, which when I asked you I got no response for) and if their dissatisfied, you pull the amateur card.

Why have you pulled your webpage down? :(

phatpower 02-18-2009 02:05 PM

Well think what you want.

I thank you for your comments,

davidhtam 02-18-2009 04:26 PM

hey dwayne,

don't take it so hard man. Use the criticism to improve your skills. Their comments may be harsh, but... that's just because the photos really are that bad (sorry).

If you want some good advice on how to improve your skills, you're going to have to put more effort into your shots. I'm pretty sure that if the guys here see that you're putting a lot into your photograph and genuinely want to improve, they'll tell you what they like and dislike about your photos and give you some times on how to do it better next time.

I remember when i got my first SLR, i was taking pictures like crazy. most of them were crappy snap shots and i would post them up on here. I specifically remember posting a picture of my car in the automotive thread.
This was the photo:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...g?t=1235007257
And i asked, lemme know what you think!

The response was something like:

What do you want us to thing about it? It's a car parked in a garage. It's in focus, but compositionally doesn't do much.

I think it was mannetwork or senna that said it.. i don't remember. I felt kinda embarrassed for posting a shitty photo and wanted to take it down, but instead, i took the criticism and went out to do a proper photo shoot in a good location. The photos turned out soso and most of them were blurry, but i did get some good shots out of it.

but yeah, in the end, thanks guys for giving me a hard time!

davidhtam 02-18-2009 04:27 PM

btw, is anyone else having trouble seeing the scientology picture?
