Playing around with the 50mm F1.8 I got today and I gotta say, for the price, you can't go wrong. I am quite impressed with this little lens. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3222/...7950749a_b.jpg |

A quick 5 minute adjustment: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...crap/ryu-2.jpg |
Hyperrev - holy crap I will trade all my riders for that guy, that jump is sick! I like the PP you did on it, looks good, but I wish it wasn't so crooked |
Nice lighting 77civic1200. |

crooked? you mean the horizon? keep in mind it was shot with a 16mm fisheye so theres some distortion...and it was a 7 shot sequence so i was panning with him. never noticed it until you mentioned it... funny im such a horizon nazi too :p but thanx |
^^^ Did he land the jump? Did you add some fill light on the guy? The scene is very well lit. |
^ yep he landed, was throwing down like that all day... some people were'nt as lucky tho... you know the jump is gnarly when the guy doesnt move for a solid 2 minutes after falling. i tried using fill flash but couldnt get it to work for me, 1/250th sync with a fully manual lens and slow ass recycle time in the cold was frustrating the hell out of me so i gave up! naturally lit with some help in post. gonna go back with a pair of 580's and fresh batteries and try again. rotated it a little :D http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y21.../IMG_47810.jpg |
I dug up some old camera gear I had. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3446/...96b3d3ee_b.jpg That's a 1megapixel camera with a 32mb compactflash card! wooo wheeee |
Nice Pentax...my dad has one of those... sweet 1MP camera too...we used to have a bunch of those in a cupboard at my old work...they were AWESOME (for putting on tarps to make sure they didn't fly away on windy days ;) ) |
Hehe...Ballin' HP! Funny how that almost 30 year old Pentax will still out resolve every DSLR on the market. |

The second pic has the horizon level, but for some reason the slant from the hill is a little distracting to me...although to be fair, if I hadn't seen the first "crooked" picture, I might not have noticed. But then, I'm a noobie rookie, so the horizon wasn't immediately obvious to me. (especially when the hill below the rider was level in the picture) Very nice pic though. It's shots like those I hope to be able to take one of these days. (after years and years and years of practice) :) |

^^ I wrote 'out resolve.' I wasn't comparing 1600 ISO film to 1600 ISO DLSR files. Compare 50 ISO Velvia (well exposed, properly developed, drum scanned) vs. any DSLR at any ISO and see which one is 'better'...although the D3x looks to be getting close to what the finest grain films could do given the equivalent lens. |

Guess who got a new camera? The LCD on the rear is insanely sharp and large. ISO 6400 is like ISO 1600 on the 5D. Video seems pretty cool but I didn't downloaded any to edit/mess around with. It's not mine, but a friend's. Will have to test out the video when we go to New York in April :). I'm still keeping my 5D for the time being, the 5dmk2 is too expensive, lol. The AWB on the two are identical. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3555/...fd059572_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3443/...167313e0_o.jpg |
That's nuts! Gimme a tissue please! ha ha?... lol |
That's the camera I want... but of course, can't afford one :( |
Took these pictures yesterday: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3557/...e3d26b6bf2.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3496/...b98def183a.jpg |
