I'd say the opposite, and say black and white for the palm picture.

Mashimaro 09-26-2010 11:11 AM

i thought about the HDR shot as well, but it was a bit windy and wasn't sure how it would turn out as i was doing some 30 second exposures at night :)

black and white might look pretty cool too, good call boostslut!

here's another from my vacation. a turtle came out from the ocean to lay her eggs on my resort beach while i was shooting the lightning pics!

sorry for the crap quality as it was raining and i bumped it up to ISO 12,800 as i didn't want to flash the turtle and scare her or stress her out!

Took the 40MP Phase One medium format camera out to Ucluelet for the weekend. My god...my 5DmkII files look like shit compared to the files the Phase One outputs.

You should know how good it is...didn't you use one at Langara? On the previous page, I posted a Hasselblad H3D-50 shot along with a 100% crop. I'll post a 100% crop of the above photos later - I'm going to sleep now. :)

12 stops dynamic range, apparently.

It's yours for the weekend as long as you leave a $30,000 deposit. :D

This is freakin' wild. I love the different layers of lighting. The slow-shutter blur on the boats just adds to the effect.

Full frame of a Phase One P45+ 40MP image using a Schneider-Krueznach 80mm f2.8 lens. Exposure: 1/1000 sec, f5.6, 100 ISO. See the little white dot the arrow is pointing to?

100% crop of the little white dot:
