No man, don't!

Haven't you seen the DS Phat that some guy painted as a dedicated to Lost in Blue?

:(

Nintensity 11-07-2006 09:37 PM

i've seen pictures of a guy painting his ds from platinum to black, and acidentally forgot to cover the screen while painting. ouch.

MysticHomer 11-08-2006 12:30 AM

. . .

ROFL... What a tard >.<

And I dunno why I'm still up, but um... Since I am...

Yay, Yoshi's Island is out!

DS #0660: Yoshi's Island DS (USA)

Ah, memories of Yoshi's Island on SNES flood in... :D

JKam 11-08-2006 12:30 PM

lol i meant by cutting out shiny sticker things and putting it on like the pokemon one hahaha

GT-[R] 11-08-2006 10:28 PM

whats the benefit to have a superkey vs getting your ds lite flashed? other then the fact that getting it flashed is cheaper... whats better about the superkey?

both can use moonshell to play videos and mp3s correct? and if you mod your ds lite, you can play original ds game cartridges without taking out the supercard?

wanna get a few points straightened out before i buy the supercard =]

MysticHomer 11-08-2006 10:39 PM

The benefit to having a Superkey is there is no chance that you can "brick" your DS...

Though Benny's apparently very good at flashing DS's and doesn't brick them, there's always a chance I guess.

Superkey doesn't fuck with your firmware, it merely tricks the DS into booting up from Slot 2 (GBA slot).

And yeah, you can use Moonshell to playback media, you just have to put the right version of Moonshell on your card...

i.e. Use the microSD one for SC Lite.

As far as your last question goes... I can only answer for when you are using Superkey with your SC.

Yes, you can play originals without removing the Supercard, since there is nothing to trick the DS into loading from Slot 2...

So... It does in fact go to the menu or if you set it on your DS, boots from Slot 1 immediately.

Hope that helped somewhat :)

GT-[R] 11-09-2006 12:25 AM

sweet you answered alot of my questions and everything seems to be clear now =D i just got my ds lite a few days ago... had a problem with dead pixels and arguments with eb... but finally got a working one and now looking for the supercard

if you flash your ds lite, does it always boot up the supercard, or does it go to the normal ds menu and have an option to turn on the supercard? i guess if you can get somebody who can flash it properly then the bricking of your ds lite isnt really a problem, comes down to whether or not i wanna pay the 10-15 bucks extra to get the superkey =p

MysticHomer 11-09-2006 08:09 AM

As for that question, I really don't know, as I didn't flash my DS... Maybe someone else can cover that :)

Oh, and I forgot to mention that flashing saves a little battery life...

I've heard that it's not like a great deal of it, but it's some XD

GT-[R] 11-09-2006 11:44 AM

sweet ill probably get the superkey then from the compc dude, just because it doesnt fuck with my firmware in case i ever need to do a warranty exchange and have to flash my new unit again...

as for moonshell, is that a free program, or a hacked one? dunno if im allowed to ask for it here or not =p

GT-[R] 11-09-2006 07:50 PM

how do you save your games with supercard?? haha

i got everything to work except when i save my games inside the game menus it doesnt save...

MysticHomer 11-09-2006 11:23 PM

Er, it should save normally... Just like if you have the real game cart >_>

Don't know what you're doing wrong - Do you have enough space on your microSD for save files? (.sav)

They're around 256 KB each I think.

Oh, and Moonshell is a free homebrew :)

GT-[R] 11-10-2006 12:46 AM

i figured it out... i had to update the firmware on my supercard, it was 1.6 or something and upgraded to the newest 1.7 the games are saved now... so the files are written in .sav when you save in the game itself?

yeah i got moonshell to work, but then, video and mp3 playback is crap... i get better results for both on my cell phone lol gonna leave teh ds for gaming only

MysticHomer 11-10-2006 02:00 PM

Haha, yeah, same here... Didn't really need it to play video or mp3 anyway >_>

And yeah, new firmware and software were released like earlier this week...

Though I don't know why your old firmware wouldn't save, it's good that you got it working :)

andrew_77751 11-10-2006 08:39 PM

guys i have a question. my brother has a g6 lite, and i have an m3 lite( we traded) andways, how do i transfer g6 lite save files onto an m3 lite. ? is there a converter program i can download?

MysticHomer 11-11-2006 02:37 AM

Probably... You'd be better off asking on gbatemp.net though...

Maybe search the forums, there's probably some threads on it already there :)

DS-Browser has been cracked, all you need is a DS-link with the Browser ROM and a Supercard or M3 to work as the storage card. Will test it out and follow up.

My newly purchased DS has a dead pixel on the touch screen, and I know that the Service Centre in Richmond will replace it for free..

The thing is, I bought it maybe 3-4 days ago from EB, and I did not buy their $15 extended warranty.

Will they allow me to exchange it at EB? Or would they just direct me to the Service Centre?

Nintensity 11-13-2006 09:12 AM

^^^

It depends on which store you buy it from, how much the Employees KNOW, what their policy is, etc.

Its because back in the old days with the Original DS, I wantedto return it becasue I had a big fat 2 dead pixels TOGETHER so you can see it so clearly while playing. One EB said that you would have to phone/contact Nintendo's Customer Service to enquire about their repair, and the other EB said that they can do it for free if you bought it 7 days within purchase (I think its 7 days) because it is just merely a "defect" in the product.

Nintendo DS browser that has been dumped sucks! You need 2 flash carts; one in Slot 2, and one in Slot 1! BOOOO

and JING, I sent you a PM about Animal Crossing, are you willing to buy it? Good game!

Rhetorical 11-14-2006 02:24 PM

are there any good FPS (or similar) games for the DS other than metroid?

jing 11-14-2006 10:54 PM

Does anyone know if multiplayer can work on backup games? By multiplayer I am referring to both "WFC" and P2P connection.. ??

MysticHomer 11-15-2006 12:10 AM

Yes, Multiplayer and WFC work just fine with most, if not all games :)

Nope, not really... for now, that's really all there is.

GT-[R] 11-15-2006 01:40 AM

which one did you buy it from? the exact same thing happened to me, i had a dead pixel out of the box and i brought it back the next day, rc eb wouldnt take it back, i need 4 or 5 dead pixels for them to do an exchange... bastards.. had a nice little chat with them... theatened to do a refund but they wouldnt do that either, some copy right law which i thought only applied to games only? systems too? who the hell copies systems?

told me to go to nintendo to repair, or pay 15 bucks to do a swap but i use up my warranty, need another 15 for another warranty.. so 30 bucks extra, + tax because they sold me a faulty ds...

ended up going to metrotown eb, they did an exchange for me no questions asked since i only bought it for a day

jing 11-15-2006 01:47 PM

I bought mine from the Coquitlam Centre location.

I'll go check out Metrotown tmrw, thanks.
