The Rolex store downtown seemed almost cocky last time I was there in late 2019.

I am looking to purchase a Submariner for my dad's Bday to bring with me to Taiwan shortly.

I bought Rolex before but that was in the US and only had Exp. servicing here.

I had great experience at the downtown Rolex store last year. Brought in my GMT Master II to get a quote to get it fixed (minute hand was stuck when setting time). My watch was out of warranty so I wanted to get an idea how much it'll be to get it fixed. CSR I had was very helpful and gave me a rough estimate and told me it needed to be send in to the service center in Toronto. Also, turnaround time was quoted to be around 3 months at the time which was pretty accurate in the end. I agreed and had them send it in for me.

To my surprise though, when they called me to inform me my watch was ready for pick up they also told me they did it for FREE under goodwill. Didn't have to pay a penny at all when I picked it up.

PS: It was my first time there and I bought my watch used, privately.

Isn't there a wait list with long wait time for the Sub just like all the other sports Rolex? The AD will probably want you to buy a Datejust as well before they let you buy a Sub.

Grey prices for a Sub is not that much more then retail and you can get it right away. When I was checking prices a few months ago, a sub date was only $800 more then retail price after tax.

After 8 months of searching for one, my friend from Australia was able to purchase and ship one to me. Unfortunately for some reason Australia has a higher msrp $250AUD (now inflated to $270AUD for some reason) so i did end up paying more for it but still less than what a reseller would charge.

GA-2100-1A1 and no it does not have bluetooth

Ordered from UK, but paid very close to CAD MSRP, ~$160 with duties/taxes. They offered me 15% refund for the mix up, but I'm torn as to whether keep it or not :/

I'm sure it's far more legible, especially at night, but still unsure.

Ah man tough call. I originally liked the silver/black for legibility as well. Would offer to take it off your hands but the all black is definitely much cooler after its grown on me.
