Not sure if this has already been posted but pretty good watch! (pun intended) |
^ Really enjoyed that video, didn't think at first there was any chance I'd make it though an hour+ but it went by really quickly. I love that all of Ed's watches are trashed from a collector standpoint. Great questions and answers. Something John said really stuck with me "Doing what you love is more regenerative than rest"... such a simple statement but very poignant. |

I got this blancpain x swatch for 3k HKD (500ish cad). Not really savings but at least it’s available. it’s automatic albeit a machine mass produced movement that might or might not be serviceable. I keep reading online that it’s 100 usd to buy a new sistem15 movement so for sure not worth servicing it. |
Nah they don't service them, they just swap out the movement for service.. Just like Seiko/Miyota/etc Actually the ETA PowerMatic 80 is probably like that too, or maybe just parts of it |

i mean ed is also rich beyond anyones wildest imagination, so scratching a $50k watch is like nothing to a guy like that. |

well done troll-ey. All those OT hours at wendy's have paid off thats a beautiful piece p.s. i was looking at a Cartier Tank for my wife but then i realized most of their womens lineup are all quartz. especially the smaller ones. :heckno: p.p.s. i hope you can read roman numerals |
That's a nice Tank.. I really like the flatter, brushed sides rather than the bubbly round look. And it's a good size for you too - when you go to reddit these dudes are wearing vintage or women's Tanks that are way too small, then you look at the comments and they're all "Muhammad Ali" BrokeBack |

So i picked up two pieces from hong kong One at a staggering good deal. This JLC Reverso for 9k CAD https://i.postimg.cc/nLX7kvKc/IMG-1479.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/X7gw7N73/IMG-1480.jpg Grabbed this at the airport duty free and they threw in 2 free straps. The engraving can be done there, or the JLC in vancouver so im not in a big rush to get it engraved. There's some interesting things you can do on that engraving so im wondering what i should get. This adds a nice dressy watch to my collection This fun little swatch x blancpain is also interesting. https://i.postimg.cc/xTQv2NQt/IMG-0666.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/wjTDtK7N/IMG-9095.jpg |
IS that you on a yacht or the Star Ferry? :troll: |
star ferry hahahah |
Oh man nice, there's some artwork versions of those JCL watches that look pretty amazing.. like the gimmick has a high chance of looking cheap or lame if done wrong but it just looks fantastic what they did with them and when you read the efforts that went into each piece it's pretty wow stuff. https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/ca-...enamel-hokusai |
Deal of the day: Citizen Men's Star Wars Collection Rebel Pilot Watch- Eco Drive, Silver-Tone https://a.co/d/bjRrqGt This seems pretty neat if you like starwars |
I like the JLC |
JLC looks so tiny on hobz wristmeat |
I saw him at the Jockey Club in HK rocking it and it looked so boss. |
so apparently they can engrave my wife's name in Chinese, or initials, etc. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...4jZvQ&usqp=CAU i was wondering if they can stencil this umaru thingy. the reasoning behind the reverso is so if you are doing any sports or whatever, you can flip the dial over and protect it. I cant imagine what situation that would be, but sure. |
Engrave "Made in Japan" on it |
"Made in China" even better |
