I currently have a Sinn u1 that I have owned for about the last 6 months and still not bored of it yet.

Not a lot of people are a fan of the lego style hands, lume or the price.

I was on the fence about picking one up for awhile but finally gave in and I'm happy with my purchase.

If you're ok with a used one, you can find them for around usually $1000-$1300 on WUS sales forum.

Yes, in my opinion used Sinn watches really are the best bang for the buck. I don't think I would buy one at MSRP.

hey guys i'm pretty new to watches... I know I won't be able to get anything good with $150-200 but what do you guys recommend for the price point?

PJ 12-16-2011 01:06 PM

If you search around online, and dont mind spending a few extra bucks for the quality, you could probably find Citizen eco-drives, Seiko divers, Tissot PRCs, for 200-250 ish.

There's nothing really worth mentioning under 200. I mean you could just get a Fossil or Diesel or whatever just to tell time. Hell, even G-shocks push past 150 after taxes.

joquio 12-16-2011 01:40 PM

On to my third watch now........I have a Seiko SKX007J1 inbouding:badpokerface:

moky 12-16-2011 01:46 PM

are u gonna mod the 007 or is it gonna remain stock?

joquio 12-16-2011 01:52 PM

I will be enjoying it in stock form for now haha.
How do most of the ppl mod them anyway?
I know where to get the parts from but do they DIY themselves? or take them to watch repair shops? or send them out to professional modders?

Seiko 5's fall into the sub-$200 price point. Good starter watch if you want to go automatic. You can even get a Seiko Black Monster SKX779K for about $200. http://goo.gl/rFUfd

Edit: Stumbled across this while on the Seiko SKX779K page on Amazon. http://goo.gl/PQS6I

Seiko 5 line shouldn't disappoint especially with the 7s26 movement with 21 jewels

Just got a strap for my Nighthawk. Anyone liking the combo? I haven't seen many tan strapped Nighthawks, just the black or SS straps.

moky 12-17-2011 10:45 AM

^that's a great looking combo!
oem citizen strap?

maxxxboost 12-17-2011 11:33 AM

Thanks. :D
The OEM was a black rubber strap. I bought this one off eBay.

YouMirin 12-17-2011 12:02 PM

$150 - 200?

Citizen
Seiko

You could also look into the Orient Mako line, arguably the best bang for buck diver in the sub $150 price point. Great quality plus it's automatic.

sorry to be noob... but kinda curious. How exactly do you mod a watch? And what is the purpose of doing so?
