I'm in the market for a Rolex GMT Master II Ceramic or the Submariner Ceramic... I'm curious what price people paid for theirs (Tax-included). Would be helpful! Thanks!

My small collection so far.
Still have a Lumtec Lumzilla on the way.
Might be selling/trading some of them.

like the seiko skx007 with jubilee bracelet. I just ordered one with oyster bracelelet

joquio 01-15-2012 12:42 AM

Yeah, I like it too.
I bought the 007 on the rubber strap and even went the extra mile to buy the jubilee bracelet. I also really wanted the hammer bracelet or the super jubilee. Didn't wanna spend that much on bracelet at that time so I settled for the seiko jubilee.
It's not bad, I still love the look but it doesn't feel as solid as my monster's oyster bracelet or other bracelets I have. It's still decent enough.

Si Ed 01-15-2012 12:55 AM

yea i heard the jubilee didnt feel solid thats why i decided on the oyster

PJ 01-15-2012 01:08 AM

@joquio, That's a pretty solid collection you got there! My favourite would have to be the Seikos! ;)

Check out my collection on page 31! :alonehappy:

Thanks PJ!
Just checked your collection, man.....it's way nicer than mine!!!
I recently fell in love with the Omega Speedy! It looks timeless, so classic!
Not sure if I can ever swallow to put so much money in a watch.

Yeah, I already have oyster for my monster so I wanted to get jubilee to diversify my line-up :D
I might get a yobokies hammer bracelet or a super engineer bracelet later down the road.

Thanks! :alonehappy:

The way I see it.. Watches are indulgences.. It's something nice for yourself when you have the means, when you're comfortable with where you are. And if you ever get bored of them, the higher end ones can be resold, and the whatever $100 dollar ones make great gifts for your little cousins and such :fullofwin: The ones I regret are the Citizen Eco-Drive (I was 17 and liked the bling), and the Vestal Zeppelin (this thing is massive. I ordered it online and did not expect it to be that big.)

And if you're looking for a cheaper respectable alternative to the Speedy, check out the Tissot V8's. They're Quartz watches, but still has that "racy" look.

anyone have any experience with invicta watches? they seem to have some nice entry level watches. but maybe the quality isn't up to par. thoughts?

rb 01-17-2012 03:40 AM

^ decent watches. Most of their watches have a Japan Miyota movt, which is better than the cheap Chinese movements on the market imo. Wouldn't pay more than $150 for one though.

Picked up this basic piece as my daily beater. Planning on purchasing a brown leather strap for it.

TAG Heuer - Mikrogirder 2000 - Reveal - YouTube

Looks good! Price tag is quite hefty though.

I just can't justify the purchase of a TAG (regular Carrera's etc) due to its poor retentive value compared to a Rolex.

:woot:, just snatched the finishing piece to complete my 7-days rotation!

jqouio, u know, a super oyster type bracelet might look pretty cool on this spork

joquio 01-18-2012 03:35 PM

Yeah, too bad it didn't come with the stock oyster bracelet.
But now I can use the Anvil bracelet on the spork OR the monster!

:suspicious: come to think of it....I might be able to fit the Monster's oyster bracelet on the Spork?
If yes then everything is perfect and we'll have world peace!!!! :nyan:

moky 01-18-2012 04:11 PM

it might fit since they are both 20mm i think!

joquio 01-18-2012 04:19 PM

Yup they are both 20mm.
But the oyster bracelet is tapered so not sure if the wide links will hinder the fitment.

Model number is Seiko SRP043 (also called SPORK).
It's discontinued. So you could hit up eBay, there are still few sellers left with stock. Otherwise you gotta browse the watch forums and look for used one.
