Mass Effect has taken too much of my time to play COD4



ME has gone surpass Jade Empire and KOTOR in terms of story telling


ME has it all, really depth storyline, even has an encyclopedia for background for races, planets and technology to fully emersed you on the game..

and im still amaze at the amount of dialogue they squeeze in on this game.. soo much depth in conversation options..


the tactical battle squad is kind of a let down though, not as much depth as i would expect compared to GRAW series..

and i have already encountered a number of glitches where i would get stuck on a wall or enemies would get stuck

not to mention numerous hitches in fps, dropping from 60 to sometimes 20fps if the game engine is running too much..


but negative as this may sound, my take on this game is definitely worth the money.. the story and the universe is just amazing for just a game..

the customization in your weapons and skills is really good..

XBOX 360 gets DivX support next Tuesday! PS3 announced it first, but who knows when that will happen...

Got Mass Effect today. So far I am LOVING the game.
I fear that this game will cause the RROD on my console lol, I played my 360 for a few hours today alternating between CoD4 and Mass Effect.

I picked the Vanguard as my class.

i didnt bother tinkering with the character customization.. i just played it with the default character


for some reason, i feel like im rushing this game because i just want to go back to COD4... but even with the rushing, ME is soo depth.. i dont know how far away from finishing it

and yes. i play this game for like an hour during the day when i can and for like 3 hours late at night while im free from studying in finals.. and fuck i even take out the disc out of the 360 in fear of it might melt from the heat. lol

Got a new premium with the stupid ass Hitachi drive, sounds like a jet when I'm playing games. Like the drive is going max constantly...

I think my 360 is slowly dieing. I'm getting disk read erros here and there and its only happened when I played gears. It makes a weird sound like the cd got stuck and then gives me the error.

my new or refurbished XBOX arrived on friday morning. I think they put the new falcons in this box cause it still had a old manufacturing date but i am very suprise that the Xbox was running very very smooth, the disc drive doesn't max out like its about to burn, i was playing COD4 for about 2hrs with ForbiddenX and after i went to feel the fans, the back which is usually the one that heats up very quickly was mildly warm and the bottom fan was just blowing cold air.

very very impressed so far..

fucking bo shit i bought a xbox 360 pro and the piece of shit fucking rrod in the first hour of game play i was so choked... lost my 1 hour file of fight night 3... all well time to start over ! haha

can you tell if your 360 is quieter than ur old one?

because my 360 from microsoft were slightly quieter than my first gen xbox 360 (bought my original back in dec '05)

but lately, after the 360 has been enduring long hours of gameplay from GH3 and COD4, the damn thing started getting noisy with the fan again, and experiencing some out of the blue freezing.......... FUCK

yeah i think my intercooler is louder than my xbox itself now lol.

You know...i didn't touch the Xbox for like couple days i turn it on...my fucking mic died for no apparent reason lol.

The 360 seems okay for now..only have that stupid disc drive open/closing problem when i stand up the 360.

Best way to check for Falcons in the new 360 is the power supply and lot number on the small white sticker on the outside of the Box. Just by looking if it has an HDMI port might not be good enough.


Though some of Lot #741 say it uses 203w power supply but when you open the box up the power supply reads 174w.

I think at Lot #742+ has 174w power supply printed on the outside, but double check if it doesn't.

As for the Halo Editions, just got a bad feeling about them. $450 for no games and only 20GB, geez what a rip, so who knows if they got Falcons.

Though it expired (think it was a one weekend thing), Dell could bring it back. Or just print off that page and go to Future Shop or Best Buy. If they refuse to match the offer, just pretend to get angry and make a scene.

I'm not sure. Look at the power supply adapter, if it reads 174w on it, chances you got the new falcon.

Oh, BTW to extend the life of your 360. DONT plug your power adapter into a surgeprotector!

I believe the power adapters already has one built in, so when you plug it into another one, you are just gonna wear out the Xbox because it has to work harder.

Also, I would avoid all third party "coolers" for the 360, especially the Nyko. They just f it up worse

shiet eh yeah i have a piece of glass like 2x1 on my table with 10lb dumbells holding it up, then the xbox goes ontop of the glass, its working better then before when i just put it on the table rrod on the first hour of gameplay haha

mass effect was a really fun game but i didn't like the fact there were only 6? crew members to choose from.

i still need to buy live but im too lazy to go out and get my 50 foot ethernet cable haha

Just finished up AC, ending was such a huge let down! Game deserves much better than that.

the 360 system hardware is a piece of crap.....its got the best games by far of any of the consoles, but u go thru all the trouble of modding it etc. and it will eventually rrod.....and no, im not paying full price for games i only play for half an hour.....its too much trouble for a console

Is FS and BB the best place to buy this system? I want to get the pro version with 20gb HD, but Im trying to find the best prices I can right now.

well if u dun want to waste time dealing with rrods, get a replacement plan from bb or fs
rrod, bring it back, get a new one

but im pretty sure most 360's on the shelf now, have the falcon chip but cant say its 100% rrod safe

i played the demo with 32 player online, and its not bad, definitely not COD4 though...... more like a Battlefield 2 type of feel


the 360 version goes up to 50 players online... but from what i read on the video game forums, servers only allow 24 max, not alot of ppl have the game yet

ill probably pick this up in the summer... when i can see a used version on rogers or eb

Frontline doesn't really appeal to me, looks more like a run and gun, spray and pray, type of game :(
