The Grey 8/10

Movie about a flight that crashes in Alaska and the survivors are hunted by wolves. Unrealistic but highly entertaining.

The Little Prince: 10/10

It's based on an old French children's book (I know, I know.) The voice actors include people like Jeff Bridges, James Franco, Paul Rudd, Benicio del Toro, and Ricky Gervais. Though it's definitely a little heavy for kids to fully understand (at least the typical North American ones that want nothing more than a Shrek or How to Tame Dragons to keep the occupied), it's still a beautiful film that even adults will enjoy. The animation is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the story sequences, and it will leave you wondering where the onion ninjas are hiding at the end of the film. It's well voiced as well.

Personally it's in my top three of movies I've seen all year so far and highly suggest everyone check it out. It's on the USA Netflix if you have it, too.

Zoolander 2: 3/10 - Just recycled jokes from the first one. Nothing new, nothing original. So yeah, terrible. Although, since i loved the first one, it did remind me how funny the original was when I first saw it. The 3 points is basically for that reason. Ha!

Sisters: 6.5/10 - Pretty funny, good characters, some really funny scenes. John Cena's character was good. It's what you would expect from a Fey/Poehler movie.

Deadpool - 7.5/10

Masterminds: 6/10

Had some incredibly funny and LOL moments, but as a whole, not that great of a movie. I was mostly getting tired and annoyed by Galifinakis's accent.

Train to Busan
8.5/10
Very good, did not expect this to be that good.

The Crazies
6.5/10
Started very strong, ended meh

Vansterdam 10-06-2016 09:46 AM

Central Intelligence 6.5/10

decent comedy with the Rock and Kevin Hart

Verdasco 10-06-2016 10:17 AM

47 Ronin
5.5/10

John Wick
7.5/10

47 Ronin was a entertaining watch, but I didn't like the CGI or the pacing.

John Wick is a great revenge action flick. Keanu really rocks the gun-fighting action sequences. It's like he's "The One" or something. I look forward to the sequel.

The girl on the train 10/10

Didn't read the book before watching and I thought it was very suspenseful. Lots of plot twists and kept me guessing what the heck was going on

I enjoyed every minute of it

Magnificent 7 6/10 pretty good, better than expected... would've liked them to expand more on characters/plot but not bad at all

Suicide Squad

6/10

Starts strong, ends very flat and meh. It's like they have 2 separate writers for the scripts nowadays.

6o4__boi 10-11-2016 07:42 AM

Siege of Jadotville

8/10

Great Netflix original. Never actually heard of the historical event before but this is pretty much a modern day 300.

axxess 10-11-2016 09:13 AM

Just saw The Beast & The Boy on netflix last night! 9/10 super awesome movie, i fell in love with the animation and the main character. No wonder this movie won Best Animation award at the Japanese Academy

i watched it too, the beginning was ok. The setup was ok but I didn't like how it was just hashed together. The villan to me was meh, didn't also like how enchanted was presented. Action was ok at best, I just don't like how there's so many people in the movie and everyone had such a short story to build the characters.

wouldn't watch again, i did like Joker and Harley combo, they totally stole the show.

deep water horizon

7/10. CGI and explosions were done really well. The build up was a little too long.

white rocket 10-14-2016 08:47 AM

The Big Short 9/10 - Great movie. Well directed, well acted. Every character was great. Awesome insight into the whole housing bubble and how it got there. Very enjoyable watch.

Secret In Their Eyes 7/10 - Dark subject matter(as a parent) but good acting, storyline and pacing. Good twist at the end. Worth the watch.

I watched it a long time ago because of Julia Robert's name on the list. The original was a foreign firm and I heard it was done much much better. I didn't think the pacing of the movie was fast enough. Wish I watched the foreign original instead.

StylinRed 10-15-2016 10:37 PM

The Accountant... mish mash of plots that were smushed together, like forcing puzzle pieces together ;)

If they just stuck with one or two plots and expanded/melded them better it could have been a good movie... I don't know how they wasted 2hrs+

5/10 prolly being generous... But there was some nice action here n there

And in case you guys are wondering this movie is kind of like an Equalizer type film, badass goes balls out to help someone

StylinRed 10-16-2016 01:27 PM

Kingsglaive 10/10

Honestly it was better than most movies I saw this year, it had some faults sure, but the sheer awesomeness of everything else allowed me to overlook those faults

This really should have gotten a wide release in theatres

DragonChi 10-16-2016 03:06 PM

^ Retina massaging graphics and effects for sure, but the faults are; weak to no plot, almost zero character development, and poor voice acting. I actually had to watch it in three attempts because the plot was so dry. Kept watching it because FF movie, and graphics looked too good.

SkinnyPupp 10-16-2016 06:31 PM

Star Trek Beyond 6/10

It was a "fine" experience, marred by shitty CG and dull "action" sequences. It felt like when they were writing the script, they would just use the words "action" and "3d gimmick" throughout, and just made up stuff on the spot.

I really thought Fury Road would inspire all action movies made after it, but that isn't happening so far. I guess it wasn't popular to make them want to make action movies better instead of more popular with dull audiences.

Also fucking GOD I MISS TNG FeelsBadMan
