Explain my low rating? Pub scene went on for too long and the ending sucked!
Just my opinion though.

The best movie of the year ... LaLa Land ... sorry, I mean Moonlight.

EndLeSS8 02-26-2017 09:19 PM

Underworld: Blood Wars

7/10
For an Underworld movie, this was pretty good IMO.

Moonlight: WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
How did you win? 6-7/10
The characters in the movie was good; it was more like a 3 acts type thing: kid, teen & adult. (of the kid's life)
First two acts were legit; Mahershala Ali played the part well. I just didn't think it was that epic. He played a gangster but the fact it was only 1/3 the movie, I personally didn't think it was anything beyond his acting capabilities, even though we saw him mostly in suits from House of Cards. Naomie Harris was meh, didn't think it was worthy of a nominations.

The 3rd part for me was like wtf. I wasn't able to connect with the last act. There are also some gay shit ( and i don't mean it in a fagg*t way 'no pun intended' *you have watched the movie)

I didn't think the ending was good at all and the characterization did not flow well at the end.

Yeah Oscar awards and nominations or not I have zero interest in watching Moonlight or Lala Land they aren't for me. I can go to my grave never seeing either of these flicks and be totally content.

The movie was set up in a way to pander to Oscar voters. A drama about a struggling minority. It's the same reason La La Land was hyped at the Oscars as well. They're films that critics and Oscar judges understand, but too artsy and pretentious for the average moviegoer.

I wouldn't say that about La La Land.

I am by no means into musicals or the "artsy boring" movies but I thought it was a great movie that brought all kinds of emotions to the viewer. It's a movie I feel anyone can enjoy. It has also grossed 142 million worldwide so it's obviously popular with the average viewer. It was tied with Arrival for my favorite movies of 2016.

Watched Moonlight and I honestly fell asleep halfway...

Logan

Feels/10. Nearly cried at the end.

You see how old and disgruntled wolverine is in the posters, this isn't a run of the mill marvel movie. it's some seriously gritty shit with F-bombs aplenty. Even captain picard has a few more than one to drop.

Someone cast him as Joel and the girl as Ellie please.

ScizzMoney 03-04-2017 07:11 PM

Oscars had to give non-whites awards. Remember last years hashtag #Oscarssowhite?

roflwaffle604 03-04-2017 10:38 PM

Logan - 9/10

604STIG 03-06-2017 07:57 AM

Logan: 8.5/10
Good movie, definitely not your typical X-Men movie. It get's you in dem feels.

SkinnyPupp 03-06-2017 09:02 AM

Logan 9/10

Just yes. Also it looks like the Mad Max Fury Road influences are starting to show in the action. Let's hope the trend continues!

Avengers movies already look archaic when compared to this, Fury Road, and Deadpool.

Logan 8/10

only docked a point because
Spoiler!

i felt physically exhausted just watching old man logan try to keep up throughout the movie lol reminded me of the revenant. the violence/action is on point and soo awesome. claws through the top of the head, down through the open mouth, and out the bottom of the chin. hoooly

Great point in the spoiler, shared a similar view on it.

One thing that kept it from being a better movie IMO is the soundtrack. The emotional scenes didn't hit me hard enough and I think it was lack of good music.

PiuYi 03-07-2017 11:42 PM

Logan 8.5/10

Feels. All feels.
