Leap.

Extremely good movie.

How do you make a movie about sports without making it super boring... extremely amazing editing, face pace with a great movie score.

Real story about volleyball player then becoming coach. Really amazing story because she went to coach for USA team and was a "disgrace" to China. blah blah blah.

really enjoyed it. Filmed by Hong Kong director and loved it.

Had a few person stories, hardship and a tad of sportmanship.

Mank 10/10

THIS WAS A MASTERPIECE. I was grinning from ear to ear for 2 hours straight, trying to keep up with the sharp dialog that was so amazingly well acted. It's legit one of my favourite movies ever

My wife was bored out of her mind and left halfway through, so be warned, it's not for everyone.

I won't say much more about it, just go watch it if you want to see something classic, but totally different.

Polar - 8/10

I wish I knew ahead of time it was based on a graphic novel, as the only thing I didn't like about it as I watched it would've been explained by knowing that. Aside from that it was nice and unpredictable. Mads Mikkelsen was fantastic.

Clinical Psyc + patient... story.... best actor award + "huge" box office in HK.

1) script was ON point
2) great editing
3) amazing angles
4) lastly, it has a mind tease all along.

A lot of research was done on what someone goes thru when they are mentally ill.
One of the better movies of videography I've seen this yr.

It's not a mind fuck movie, just really good mental issues and battle...

so much hype for this movie; even Van sun said it was 5 out of 5 stars.
Rotten tomato was 54%..

I had to agree with Rotten tomato.

Compared to Martian or Gravity (whcih George) was also in; even though he directed in this movie... it suckeeddddd..
Movie was 2 hrs too long.

I have to say, there were some nice scenes (the reveleant director also helped); but when you have a stretched script, it doesn't do justice when people's attention span is zero.

Great score + just ok acting... I thought George could have done better.

Funny parts mentioned in the Van Sun was right.
a) how do you JUST discovered a new moon at Jupiter just now.
b) There is no way you go out in -40 C with no glasses, no face shields / face covering...
c) I have yet see someone swim in ocean water and not get hypothemia, so when it's -20 ice field... it just baffles my mind.
d) how can air lock be 30 secs + someone getting hurt without losing air suit pressure.

6.75 - 7/10 at best because of "interesting" ending, decent score and visual... the script just didn't have any tension.

We watched this movie last night. Are you serious this got 5/5 stars in Vancouver Sun? That reviewer should never have a writing gig ever again.

This movie was easily a 2/10. Fucking awful, a total waste of my 2 hours. Pointless and predictable story, nothing explained, cliche characters that you have literally no connection with, the whole thing was a mess.

By the end I was saying to my GF, George Clooney MUST have produced and directed this movie, cause there's no way this would've came out otherwise. Did a google afterwards, and yup, directed and produced by Mr. Clooney.

What a waste of a CGI budget, this thing is a massive pass.

SkinnyPupp 12-24-2020 03:10 PM

Have there been ANY good direct-to-Netflix "Blockbusters" that are any good? They're all garbage based on what I've seen. Even for "turn off your brain" shit

Talking about the action movies like that with the big stars.. The Chris Hemsworth one, etc. They still have some great originals like Mank which I raved about above, and Enola Holmes, etc

"The Midnight Sky is available Dec. 23 on Netflix. 5 stars out of 5"

will never trust this dude again.

The only movie i can say direct to netflix that was legit was "always be my maybe" and the other one was Project Power or The Old Guard... but i think those are just purchased by Netlflix

6793026 12-26-2020 01:15 AM

Wonder woman 1984

it kept up with the previous one; I did enjoy it as I had to keep guessing most of the way to figure out each character. I did enjoy specifically Kristen Wiig; never seen her as a super hero type movie and she did hold up pretty well. Main reason goes to keeping the same director in both film; (produced + written this one too).

The 1984 setting was pretty close to par, sometimes the colors did go too far yet it was done nicely.

Chris Pine didn't really do much in this movie nor the action scenes; it was funny after a while, I felt like I was watching a female spiderman ahaahha.

8/10

Mr.Money 12-26-2020 04:35 AM

^^^ felt like it dragged on near the end, same old action fight scenes.

unless you're a fan its 6.5/10 from me.

reminded me the planet of the ape films, looks interesting in the trailers but falls short of expectations

Disney Pixar "Soul" ...i don't know why this movie hit me in the feels, but looked damn good in 4k uhd with "Vivid" mode on.

few funny parts here & there.

8/10.

6793026 12-26-2020 08:45 AM

^ totally forgot about Soul..... and since it's Pixar.. It's always guarantee to be good.

Great recommendation.

Great music; some of the scenes were a bit crazy for kids to understand but overall it wasn't bad. Keeping it down to 1.5 hrs was a smart choice.

Love how it was short and sweet, simple story line makes things work well.
8.5/10 for sure

ime2006 12-26-2020 08:57 PM

Wonder Woman 1984
mehhhhhh......fall in sleeeeep so many times....5/10

Gal Gadot 10/10 :sweetjesus:

Gumby 12-26-2020 10:47 PM

Which streaming service are you guys using to watch WW84?

Mr.Money 12-27-2020 05:37 PM

Wonder Woman 1984

Maybe 3.5/10.

I was quite disappointed. I'm contemplating if I enjoyed BvS better just cause it had better action scenes. A lot of her jumping scenes were blatant wirework that made her "float" around and they didn't bother trying to apply proper physics as if someone was jumping and landing. Some of her flying scenes looked like she was just lying on a bar stool with a green screen. The visual effects is on par with the TV series Supergirl.

There wasn't really any particular scene that felt epic or made me feel "wow!" The plot was maybe slightly more unique than your typical superhero movie, but the execution was a disaster imo.

All the while, the way the movie was filmed made it look like I was watching a 1980's movie, not a 2020's movie that took place in the 80's. (Maybe the VFX was a throwback to 80's tech. IDK...)

I don't know they came out with this movie after making the 1st Wonder Woman incredible.

Gerbs 12-27-2020 06:08 PM

WW84

6.3/10, felt like nothing amazing. The highlight was seeing the invisible jet.

SkinnyPupp 12-27-2020 06:29 PM

I feel like I get burned by the hype behind every Pixar movie, I haven't really liked one since Toy Story 1. I kind of just stopped watching them but I still give one a chance once in a while, only to merely be fine with spending 2 hours that way.

I'll give Soul a chance, because the soundtrack sounds like it should be amazing, and the visuals should be good. Will report later! SeemsGood

Have you seen Toy Story 3?
The best Pixar movie imo, maybe the best 3D animated movie of all time for me.
And I kind of watched it as a standalone too cause I didn't really watch TS1 or TS2 (although I knew the premise of it).

For a good decade from 2000-2010, I felt Pixar had a good dynasty.
But it all fell apart once Cars 2 came out in 2011 (worst Pixar movie), and then it just went from bad to mediocre movies since, with some good ones here and there in the mix.

At this point, I feel like they're just pumping movies out every year, sometimes twice a year now. It's a cash cow and I feel the quality has suffered.

Yeah I would have watched that I think.. The one with the big pink bear right? It was fine

"Up" was fine... Wreck it Ralph was fine...

I dunno, maybe I'm just kind of broken in a way that super emotional storylines don't resonate with me. The "hidden jokes for adults" gimmick doesn't do it for me.. like ooh, my kids don't know why I'm laughing! How naughty! Not for me LUL

Manic! 12-27-2020 08:52 PM

Wonder Woman 84 3.5 out 0f 10

Trailers made it look so good but it's a disappointment.

6793026 12-27-2020 10:54 PM

toy story 3 was by far the best i've seen and ALMOST made me cry

inside out, nope.
Up.. JUST maybe at the first 1/4.
Soul... nope.

But damnnnn Toy Story 3 was so closed in getting tearssssss... and the ken and barbie part at the end of trailer was great.

sonick 12-28-2020 08:39 AM

Soul was nowhere as good as Inside Out, and I'm not typically a Pixar fan.

The metaphors in inside out made more sense, whereas in soul I think they were grasping a bit.

Nitpick/question about the ending, spoilered:

Spoiler!

Bender Unit 12-28-2020 11:05 PM

WW84 - This movie is straight out to VHS/DVD material If it wasn't Gal Gadot

First 1.5hrs was boring as f--k

Soul - 6.5/10 music was great. Story was a bit weak

Hondaracer 12-29-2020 10:37 AM

Coco is a fantastic Pixar movie if you guys haven’t seen it

Obsideon 12-29-2020 12:43 PM

WW84 - wow it what can I say ... it was so ... BORING
It's super terrible compared to the first one. The story, pacing, the action, the CG ... all subpar.
Spoiler!
