fuck this im opening a greek resteraunt with REAL greek food. in richmond too. Because I know asians will fucking eat stuff like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kokoretsi Whenever I take my dad out for dinner we usually go Niagra Falls or Primerose, both just past the tunnel. I usually just eat calamari and greek salad, mostly because it's something I can not eat at home. Also I've been eatting at tandoori kona lately. Take out as per recommended. Went 3 times in the past week and a halfish. First time got the lunch special(butter chicken + Rice + naan) with 2 samosas. Came out to 11 dollars. Not a whole lot of chicken, but I was full after. 8/10 The next time got goat curry, 2 samosas. Came out to 11 dollars. Decided the next time dinner takeout. Got the lamb korma (hot) with rice and 2 naan. This was pretty pricey. Came out to 17 dollars. He was nice enough to throw the naan in for free, since I was short a dollar or 2. https://instagr.am/p/KHIHMVmBuR/media/?size=l my god lamb korma is my favourite thing ever, and this was just fucking awesome. 10/10 Even though it's half eatten the portion was unbelievably generous. |

"Does not cover gratuity" Do people tip food carts? They are somewhat 'fast food' and 'to go' and my gut impression says no. |

I love the old school push cart style. I wish we see more special dim sum items the ones which really showcase the chef's skill and passion. Gwai lo wonton with sweet sour sauce is awesome. Anyone know where I can find the following dim sum items? Thousand layer cake (desert with egg yolk and sweet cake) Deep fried shrimp toast Good deep fried calamari (ones with tentacles and all? the ones I find at the dim sum places only serve the squid variety) Quote:

Depends on the shop. I know a few dim sum masters that still work at chinese resturants, they start freaking 5am. I wouldn't be surprised at the $2 places for big/m/small tho. |

The Pint on Abbott. It was Wing Wednesday, and they were pretty decent, had a basket of their house special sweet and spicy, and a Guiness BBQ wing basket. Also ordered the poutine, pretty generous serving with awesome fries for 10 bucks. I chose to drink Stella for the evening, and it went pretty well with the food. Service was kinda meh, but with the table arrangements being kinda far apart, I can sort of see why. Also, TV's over the urinals :fullofwin:. 7.5/10 |
Pizzeria Barbarella 8/10 lol wayyyy too fuckin loud with hipsters around tonight... and sadly ran outta desserts, pizza is pretty good and thin |
All Fresh Seafood Dac Biet Ngon Ngon 0/10 New Vietnamese restaurant near Famous Foods. Maybe because they have just recently opened but those votes on urban spoon that showed a 90% rating, must have been all from the employees. Food sucked - plain and simple The Pho, I never thought I would taste a bowl of pho worst than Phoa Hoa or those other crappy 24hr joints. Alas, I was chosen as the unfortunate one. First - the broth, which I don't even think I should call broth, tasted like water, with a hint of beef flavouring. Next, the noodles were overly generous - to the point of soaking almost all my so called pho broth. Bright side - it came with a decent amount of beef/meat, but didn't need cartilage at all. I figured it was just my dish that was awful, but the other dishes were mediocre as well. And the music in the background, I'm fine with Vietnamese Karaoke Music, but do you need to blast it up? Overall - my finds are, this place does not cater to regular people. With a 2 am closing, I find it more catered to gangsters and family, who do not care much about food, as they gulp their alcoholic drinks in a drunken stupor, red in their faces - singing awkwardly to Vietnamese "music". My 2 cents. -___- |
Pho Tam 10/10 Everyone should know this by now.... |
Mughal Gardens butter chicken + 2 naan's 100/10 So awesome, they don't put any tomato sauce/paste in it which is the way i like it :alonehappy: Could drink that sauceee :megusta: |
The Refinery 9/10 Had the goat cheese salad, hummus, prosciutto flatbread and seared tuna. Awesome cocktails all ingredients made in house. Have to try their gin infused lavender earl grey drinks. House Guest 9/10 Nothing special but their prawn guac was excellent. Nice little lounge area downstairs with couches, full bar and live DJ's. Nice wind down place to bring a first date. |

I went to SSW main street about 1 month ago. No thousand layer cake on menu. No shrimp toast to be found. They have calameri but it was horrible. They use the shitty squid (white portion and no tentacles) with no marinaded coating. IMO Sun shui wah is jokes for dim sum among the Canadian and white crowd. The place is way over-rated. |

and you always see those nammer gangster daddies having dinner there |
