The side dish was a special...

Dungeness Crab Meat Poutine. Dungeness Crab Meat, Bacon bits and EGG YOLK..

About 4-5 years ago, their service was just like copa, rude and pissed off looking...seemed like customers were bothering their time as waitresses...

Yeah Gloucester's service is far, far better than Copa. One of the manager(?) ladies is very friendly. Might be your friend lol

My girlfriend ordered a cold milk tea with her meal, and they gave us a hot one by accident. We told her, she brought out a cold one, and offered us free ice cream after our meal :fullofwin:

The food's pretty average, but their service is way better.

Mi Mexico in Bellingham. I love the food there so fricken good 10/10

Desi Junction 8/10 I was impressed as I was pulled in by the idea of BUFFET! We ate butter chiken pulao rice and an assortment of pakoras.

Heron's Restaurant

Nice location, nice view, older crowd (waterfront Fairmont Hotel), acoustic guitar performer was pretty good, fit the mood well.

Girlfriend had the Halibut, I had the Salmon. Fish was good, but the garnishes were weird.
Girlfriend's came with mashed potatoes with mashed peas..? Had a strange sort of cirtus-y taste.
Mine came with some weird mushroom stem stuff.. did not enjoy it at all.
Maybe we just don't have a tongue for super fancy foods.

It's a nice restaurant, and it was pretty busy, so they must be doing something right.

But for our personal tastes, I don't think we'll be going back.

Library square - georgia street, attached to the library.

Went there to watch UFC, and I was surprised at the food. Not typically one to order Salmon at a pub, but I'm watching what I eat, and that was the healthiest item.

Very good with a yogurty sauce. Veggies were good too. I looked around, and peoples burgers were looking good too. I almost cracked and tried the pork served between waffle sandwhich. Looked very tasty.

I'd rate 8/10. Service was good, food was good, its a pub during a busy UFC event, can't expect much.

PJ 05-28-2012 01:59 PM

^ A lot of pubs have their specialty menu items, you'd be surprised at how good the food at some pubs are.

sonick 05-28-2012 02:15 PM

I was never a fan of Library Square food, but agreed on pub foods being good. My personal favourite is Flying Beaver; their Chicken & Brie sandwich one of the best (even compared to specialty places like Burgoo), I am also partial to their Seafood Avocado sandwich.

The food at the new Ceili's Richmond on the other hand has disappointed me. Wings were decent, though.

!e.lo_ 05-28-2012 08:54 PM

Ebisu Robson 10/10. Never disappointed.

Pajo Gary Point. 5/10. got owned by a bunch of bones. bland tasting cod. Oil soaked fries.

Meowjin 05-29-2012 12:20 AM

flying beaver is amazing.

PJ 05-29-2012 07:37 AM

Beefy Beef...
Usually it's half decent, but last night, just garbage.

Gf and I both ordered a noodle-in-soup dish..
Meat was cold. Seemed like they just took it out of the fridge and threw it in the soup. Her soup was too bland, mine was too rich. Noodles were undercooked.

Worst experience I've had there. I don't even wanna go back anymore.

deer garden 6/10
i usually like this place but the tom yum goong is just way oily and whats with all the kimchi in there?

noTirl 05-29-2012 09:24 AM

Golden Swan 7.5/10
Pretty solid place for dimsum. I like how they have push carts and forms to order with. Interesting tidbit their siu mai? doesnt have mushrooms in them.

Din Tai Fung (Bellevue). 7/10
I guess the reputation precedes their product. Pretty disappointed by the lack of variety in their appetizer menu. Wasn't blown away by their XLB either, which was suppose to be their specialty.

Overall, it's just an average Shanghai food experience with slightly higher prices and better than average decor.

miss_crayon 05-30-2012 03:45 PM

^DTF bellevue is NOTHING compared to the REAL dtf's in Asia. The bellevue location is very average and nothing to write home about.

Pretty long line up. They told us the wait was going to be an hour, so we took the number while looking for other places to eat. Ends up everywhere was busy and had a wait (it was a weekend after all), so we went back. They had a table for us around 45mins.

Can't remember all the prices. But bill came out to about $150USD for 6 adults and a baby. Not too bad as long as our dollar's trading at par. :)

Yep they're Mexicans. Most of their servers are not Chinese either. So I had to order in English, which was kind of weird.

The Keg Burnaby on Still Creek Drive. 9/10

-good steak! Sirloin Oscar: ordered the top sirloin, medium rare with shrimp, scallops, asparagus, and baked potato.

-crab cakes with dill pickle mayo is good too.

-This restaurant is full even on weeknights. It's a good place to go for drinks after work.

Pasta Lupino in whistler
Food
9/10
I had the chicken parm, girlfriend had spinach ravioli.
Chicken was a tad overcooked. Only reason it wasn't a 10. Flavour was great, and the pasta was fresh and as amazing as I have had at places twice the price. Everything was seasoned well. The ravioli was ridiculously good.
service
8/10
Good service but its a counter order style for lunch, so there is not a lot of interaction and they don't really do all that much for you.
Price
11/10
Our meals with tax tips and 2 san pellegrinos came to $32.00
This is the quality of food that would have you paying 20 bucks a plate elsewhere. Here it was 10.
Overall 9/10
Id say to go here for dinner, it would probably be a 10, because they switch to a traditional style restaurant with servers in the evening.
This place is worth its weight in gold.

Handi on Dunbar
Really good butter chicken and lamb rogan josh. Aloo gobi was average though.
Everyone left happy so 8/10

I went there a couple weeks back for dinner after a day of spring snowboarding and boy was I ever surprised. It's a totally unassuming little place next to a Domino's and I had no idea that it would be this good. I tried the Chicken Parmesan and it was absolutely delicious. The prices were great and by the end of the meal, the portions were big enough that I couldn't finish it all. Definitely a place to check out whenever in Whistler.
