I can't understand why the NHL whould have the Canucks fly out to Minny and then have them fly all the way back to Pittsburg for Saturdays game? And wtf is up with the start time on Sat? Is it a national game on NBC?

Maybe its the NHL having to schedule around activities that occur with the arena such as concerts and etc.

Maybe the NHL schedules around concerts or concerts scheduled around sporting activities, or maybe both.

I'm sure they do, but this year's schedule is really fucked up for a lot of teams.
For example, the Leafs have a 4 day break and a 5 day break in January in between games.
The Flames are playing a home and home series with Colorado, yet the 2 games are not back to back or even 2 days apart.

As of this morning, NYR played 21 games, SJ played 20, and STL played 16 games.
