Luongo is the team.

PavelGTR 01-14-2009 04:44 PM

One trade I would honestly love to see is Pyatt and a draft pick for Wheeler of Boston. That dude is a fucking beast.

It would be the end of hockey for us basically, look at the way we play without him :(

What did they say Canucks kicked in again? 10 mil?

hopefully he'll be gone soon or dropped down cuz i really don't see how he can play in the top 3 lines when he doesn't skate hard and doesn't use his size

should call him out on that shit like what T mac said about robbie

There will always be favorites amongst the coaching staff. I think they are hoping to get another 20 goal season out of him. But I agree with you. They ride him way too much, meybe literally..hahah.

AV will be with the Canucks for the remainder of the season...unless they go on an 8 game losing streak or something ridiculous...

He's a good coach. In terms of juggling the lines. You got players coming in and out with injuries or signings..i'd imagine he's trying to find good chemistry. With that being said he is notoriously known for doing it - but I say patience should play out.

I will be the first one to dump on this team in the beginning of February if they are underperforming...

On a side note...Salo is made of glass...he slipped walking onto the ice in practice or the skate...and right a way grabbed his side...

Anyone at the Fan Appreciation night?? The sweater over the back at the end of the game...When the voiceguy called Salo...Salo was shaking every fans hand before he got to the fan he was going to give his jersey to..

THe voiceguy says over the PA - Hey Sami..stop shaking all those hands you might get injured...LOL thought that was pretty funny

Harvey Specter 01-14-2009 10:01 PM

Not sure how much the Canucks kick in but $10 mill seems about right. The Leafs have the biggest kick back.

alex.w *// 01-14-2009 10:09 PM

i think mats sundin is bringing bad luck to the team

Not really racist! 01-14-2009 10:17 PM

big game tomorrow...

must win!

lu is 100%, so im guessing hes starting for sure?

let's hope his presence sparks the canucks

^lol nucks have been worse since sundin signed

hi5-ive 01-14-2009 10:41 PM

sundin's making us better team, just that we didnt had LUONGO for almost 2 months.

now hes back. they will have more confident

Harvey Specter 01-14-2009 11:04 PM

The guys calling the game for MSG on Tuesday had high praise for Sundin and said Vancouver fans are in for a big surprise once Sundin gets his legs moving.

fobulaus 01-14-2009 11:27 PM

Wellwood won't be playing tmr... Raymond Sundin and Demitra on the same line... AV, I don't get you sometimes... Raymond over Wellwood, wtf...

CRS 01-14-2009 11:32 PM

he's scratching wellwood?!

Seriously?

invader 01-14-2009 11:51 PM

yep Hansen draws in Welwoods healthy scratch

goo3 01-15-2009 12:00 AM

Who's playing w/ the Sedin's then?

RiceIntegraRS 01-15-2009 12:39 AM

If i was AV i play

Demitra - Sundin - Wellwood
Sedin - Sedin - Hansen
Burrows - Kelser - Bernier
Hordichuk - Johnson - Raymond

Harvey Specter 01-15-2009 12:46 AM

I like the move from AV but like fobulous said wtf is up with AV benching Wellwood and not Raymond? I would have benched Raymond last week but that been said it’s not like Wellwood has been playing any better. He's been awful the past few games which includes a few really bad giveaways. Come to think of it the entire teams needs to be benched, lol.

hi5-ive 01-15-2009 12:46 AM

thats like EA NHL 09 set up LOL

Wellwood is good and his slipping performance can be directly attributed to him getting shit minutes. He's the only guy in the team that has a good finish and I agree with his previous statement. "Every game he will get 2 to 3 chances and he is guaranteed to bury at least 1." The catch is he needs top-line or 2nd-line minutes to eventually get those 2 to 3 chances.

This goes for Demitra too. I don't know why AV doesn't utilize this guy more.

goo3 01-15-2009 01:09 AM

as for benching wellwood.. only thing i can think of is this is punishment for that lazy giveaway he had last game with the net open.

Don't think so.

I don't see AV punishing Edler, Bieksa & Sedins for the exact same giveaways as well. Doesn't make sense to single out Wellwood when the whoole team is is making the exact same mistakes, (goalies included), that they weren't making earlier in the season.

I don't know why the Canucks lost their intensity. It's as if the almost don't give a fuck anymore. Which makes me wish all our players was Ovechkin-like. Not necessarily the goal scoring part, but the "I <3 hockey part". The part that says "I want to be here and I would rather do nothing else." The guy even celebrates his teammates goal the way he celebrates his own. Even when his team was shit a few season ago, he still was the same guy.

Tim Budong 01-15-2009 01:23 AM

AV benching wellwood is the same reason why demitra was demoted to 4th liner status for the NJ game.
Av woulda benched Demitra if he didnt have the godly "untouchable" clause

Demitra cannot be traded, waived, scratched
thus the most "demeaning" thing AV could do is start him on the 4th line..Demitra turned up the heat in the NJ game to get himself outta the dog house.

Lets hope wellwood is amazing for the CBJ game if he can slot back into this one

Raymond at least can play with some energy at times to earn his position on the team on a nightly basis even if its the 4th line. Janik Hansen will need to be an impact player vs PHX to make his statement on the team. It don't matter if Hansen is top 10 in rookie scoring(i think) and it dont matter how well he plays with sundin back in toronto. you on a slump like he is and playin like garbage, something will happen. Just like Curtis Sanford.

Too bad for wellwood tho, the top checkers are still hounding at the sedins in the corners and wellwood(yes he is small) isnt really allowing the sedins to free themselves up if he joins the passing party in the corner

i agree that Wellwood gets really shitty minutes. And Do we really need to have the PP lineups totally different than the regular lineup? Cause thats when someone usually is the odd man out when u start mixing it up on the PP.

Maybe this is a bad example but in the WEC days Mo-Bert-Nazzy always played together 5v5 and 5v4 and Sedins + Carter/Klatt/King did aswell, thats why i believe we were really good on the PP

remember the first couple Canuck games this season, we saw the "new" look canucks, right now there playing like last season. Time for Kelser and Burrows to inspire this club alil bit

hotjoint 01-15-2009 06:55 AM

tonights game will be interesting

411ken 01-15-2009 07:00 AM

Scratching one of the team's leading scorer? That's just ridiculous. oh well, Pyatt must be doing something extra on the side for AV just to keep him playing.
