I would actually like see Raymond pull of a Lecavalier or Burrows and dedicate the whole off-season just to condition with a personal trainer. The guy doesn't need to improve in terms of speed, but he's wayyyyy behind in terms of strength. |
Is Raymond the guy that weighs like 165 lbs? I remember seeing someone on the Canucks roster with that weight, and that's super light for a pro hockey player. Not sure was it Raymond though. |

The Sedins want a long term contract for 6 - 7 million per season each according to the Team 1040. (Jacked from CDC) |

Gino said when he goes to florida a couple of times a year he sees bure's mom and siblings and they say how bure is still in great shape and working out tons.. which he went on to say that he thinks if he got offered a contract in the NHL he would take it. doesnt matter tho, bure still have shitty knees. |

blehhh..the CDC is garbage.. regardless the sedins are great from how tey can work the puck along the boards and not many teams have players that can do this...these two guys are elite players in my mind, these guys as much as they like the city and all that stuff, they will leave to win..its that simple..not saying the canucks cant do it, just..that this years edition isnt the answer. With this dograce into the playoffs and how everyone fighting for those 3 spots are playing like shit, it dont look good |
i dont think the sedins are really that concerned with winning a cup as much as somone like Lu is, imo they seem like they'd rather stay and try to help the nucks rather then leaving personally i think they will sign for around 10 mill for both imo an ideal contract would be 3 years, 5 mill per a year with a no trade for the first 2 |
I don't think McIver means the end of O'Brien. Gillis couldn't send down Mike Brown without him going through waivers and he thought Brown would get claimed for sure so he was never sent down. He was taking up a roster spot here so he got traded for McIver, who can get sent down. This gives the Moose more depth on defense and we can call up a forward that can contribute offensively like Jason Jaffray instead of being stuck with Mike Brown who couldn't really fit in anywhere. |
maybe we'll deal bieksa |
the canucks have cap space..yea..but not many assets to deal with on the roster...Mike Gillis has said that Grabner, Hodgeson, Schneider and draft picks cannot be touched. i dont see the canucks doing much at the deadline unless its for dealing someone away from the core. and something unrelated Stefan Logan has signed with the Steels..wow..i feeel good and bad for Wally and hte Lions.. one thing, he is pluckin talent left and right outta no where, but at the same time, the NFL is hawkin the lions for potential suitors.. |
the Wellwood fanclub sure has gotten quiet lately... |

Flames dropped their 3rd straight.....Canucks seriously need to get on a winning streak. |

honestly tho, it would probably be more beneficial to us if calgary goes on a winning streak against teams from the western conference.... there are 10 teams out in the west clustered within 6 points, its more valuable for us if those guys don't earn a single point.. |

True but look on the flip side, if the Flames keep losing and Canucks can get a winning streak going we could be fighting for top spot in the NW this month. Actually we could be fighting the Wild and/or the Oilers for it. And honestly I don't think a winning streak is too farfetched even though we've only won 1 game in what like 9 games? lol. |
if you compare points of the sedins, to that of kovalchuk, iggy, malkin etc. they are a bargain compared to them. Sedins put up higher numbers than 1 big superstar could bring in, and it works out to roughly the same price (if they sign for cheap enough) another post on CDC was "IF" we make it to the playoffs, bring up hodgson. This all depends on how good brampton is doing/how deep they go. I want to see hodgson win all the awards he can, but he could also be a great help to the canucks in the post-season. This happened to Iggy back in 96 i beleive.. |
Man... CDC... instant discreditation... bringing Hodgson up for the playoffs would be stupidity of highlight reel proportions................. where are we going to put another centre on a team that already has 5 natural centremen playing on 4 lines right now? He's got nowhere to play and he's inexperienced... it's just stupid, he'd centre the 4th line at best and what will playing with Johnson and Hordichuk teach him? He's going to be great, but even in the pre-season he got pushed around a lot and needs to work on his strengthening, that would only show ten-fold in the playoffs. Iginla was already a big power forward right off the bat, Hodgson is not. |
