Chicago beat western canadadian teams, but i just got a feeling Canucks will own them tomorrow.
I got a feeling they will be on 4 win streak at least

AzNightmare 02-06-2009 09:42 AM

Chicago actually haven't lost to a Canadian team this season, not just the western ones.

Grandmaster TSE 02-06-2009 11:21 AM

they posted these jokes in the vancouver sun I believe

Q. What do you call 30 millionaires around a TV watching the Stanley Cup playoffs?

A. The Vancouver Canucks

Q. How do you keep the Vancouver Canucks out of your yard?

A. Put up a goal net.

Q. What do you call a Vancouver Canuck with a Stanley Cup ring?

A. A thief.

Q. How many Vancouver Canucks does it take to win a Stanley Cup?

A. Nobody knows and we may never find out.

Q. What do the Vancouver Canucks and possums have in common?

A. Both play dead at home and are killed on the road.

saying the canucks team (the 30 millionaires) will be watching the playoffs and not playing in them

Tim Budong 02-06-2009 12:52 PM

hmm.something tells me this team needs a winner...someone to lead the team...
nothing wrong with the group
having a winner that has gone and won the sweet16 is what we need

AzNightmare 02-06-2009 01:01 PM

^
That's supposed to be Luongo's role, but he hasn't been playing all that superb as of late anyway. I don't know what goes on in the locker room so I can't make any comments whether Luongo's doing his job there effectively or not.

OKK! thanks.
For some reason I was trying to Connect the Vancouver Millionaires with that joke and nothing clicked. lol

Tim Budong 02-06-2009 01:45 PM

winner as in stanley cup winner
someone who has won it all
thats no lu
someone like that in the locker room can influence players to play better
and in my own opinion, this could be good for the team..especially lu..and maybe even mats sundin to pursue that goal

silk 02-06-2009 02:18 PM

i always thought for a Goalie to be a Captain is not a bright idea
We need people on the lines and skate with them to pump up the rest of the players

Luongo is good but maybe they just want to give him the title and keep him at vancouver

Experience is fucking overrated. We tried the getting a "winner" formula before. That was Messier. Didn't do shit to make the Canucks a winner.

Ps: darthchilli can you type in complete sentences? Almost all of your posts give me a headache.

yea...but look at the team during those days and now...we have pieces of the puzzle that we didnt have back then. and the biggest one was a goalie.

AzNightmare 02-06-2009 03:15 PM

Well in that case, we shouldn't have got rid of Ryan Shannon. He has a cup ring... :(

Yes but that was one piece of the puzzle. The remaining piece has yet to arrive and that's a legitimate goal scorer. And no, Daniel Sedin and Kyle Wellwood though talented, aren't legitimate goal scorers.

The last time we had one of those was Naslund, and Bure before that. Good times  But they never last.

Sedins are only part of the puzzle. but the truth is..no one like that is avaliable out there...well..u can try to cash in Kovochuk..but thats alot to give up...The canucks can skate..and be fast. Reading hte paper today tho, what they said about Ryan kesler how he can be a shutdown guy, but come back and bite you in the ass at the same time as well as being hte best forward on the team is somewhat sad. here you have a 3rd line checker(quoted by the paper as 2nd line center due to pts by default) and thats it. The sedins arnt really in a "slump" since they still make the impact play, but the team needs a bit more from them.

regardless..57% on the PK..fucking hell

heres an interesting read

i wonder how those talks went after the blueshirts got spanked by dallas

in other news..anyone see the hit Taylor Hall laid out on John Taveres..
something tells me Taveres' career will be plagued by injuries...simply becuz he gets hurt and takes a game or two off and then come back...

and 3rdly..the joke of a panel in hockeycentral is allowing fans to post videos and make proposals towards their favorite team and why.....wow

He sounds so sad these days, he was on Team1040 yesterday around 3pm and Terry David Mulligan (actor guy) was on and he kept saying over and over again how he has so much time on his hands so he watched every movie in the Oscar race... him and Terry were debating who was going to win each category at the Oscar's... poor guy.
