Yeah, it looks like he abandoned the arrow shooting move.

Maybe it's the "can't break this" move (a la "can't touch this").

It does seem that way, but most here are true die hard fans. Bitch we do, but in the end, we still root and hope for the team to be successful. I prayed today in front of the Canuck shrine I have set up at work.

YAYYYYY!!!!

If we can win 5 in a row and Flames drop 5 in a row (already dropped 2) we're back on top of the NW.

In saucywoman's defense, it did kinda sound like you were saying anyone who didn't post on here consistently was a bandwagoner. :D

Ain't nothing wrong though with having bandwagon fans though. I think eventually the bandwagoners become die hard fans as the team does better. Like 89blkcivic said, most people on here are die hard fans, and actually care enough about the team to be critical of them and discuss how the team could improve.

Anyways, nice gritty effort by the team today. Luongo still has a way to go to being the Luongo that we know. Seems like he's still lacking some confidence. Also, Burr and Kes need to be kept together. They're the only pair that actually puts in a decent effort every night. Remember, they're a checking line and their primary role isn't to put pucks in the net, it's to shut the opposing team's #1 line down.

Hondaracer 02-03-2009 09:33 PM

great way to win tonight, having a late goal is one thing, but burrying it short handed like burrows did gives an extra boost of confidence to the team

not to mention Sundins play im sure brightened hopes in other players minds

GG nucks! lets take down the hawks next

i could only dream...tho it can happen

I'm not saying who's a bandwagon jumper and who's not. I tell it as I see it. I'm just posting the facts. :)

Burrows and Kesler doesn't "need" to be kept together. Kesler did fine without Burrows, but they were together on the PK when they were needed. I'd say split them up but have them together when they need to shut down the opposition.

On another note, I think Burrows was motioning "we broke the streak" when he scored his goal

True dat, but it looked like Cam Ward thought he was going five hole.

Burrows in the interview after the game said he cheated on the play, hoping Kesler would be able to chip it by. He also said, if separating the two of them (Kesler) means wins, then they'll be apart for the rest of the season. The two are magic together at times, but the Kesler, Demitra, Sundin line looked good tonight.

Now that Sundin looks like he's coming around, Demitra can step it up a notch. If Wellwood shakes the slump and Luongo finds his form, it's starting to look good all of a sudden.

Listening to AV, he had some jump in his voice. He believed the team was ever so close. If the Canucks have a good two weeks it will go a long way. The management stuck with the team and the coach through the tough times. This means a lot.

I hope the negative fans who were calling for AV's head, so and so's head, etc. just go away now. Like I said, the Superskills event was a really positive one. All the quitters (shithead fans) stayed away from that event and perhaps that's why the players were having so much fun.

It might only be one win, but it feels so good. Like a good shit after a long week of constipation.

That makes total sense now you mention it.

I used to think that too, until today. AV's a genius....... or at least lucky because splitting them up in the regular lines worked. And thinking further on it, it makes sense. You got two guys who play their hearts out and give it their all, most nights. Putting them in separate lines now gives that energy to two lines rather than one. Burrows was on a line with Wellwood and Bernier, right. Not a great combination, but it can work too, given time.

So, should AV split the twins one day? This might force them to shoot the puck more often. No brother to pass it to. LOL.

Sorry, no can help, but I heard a lot of places were selling jerseys for cheap because the Canucks were playing so poorly. Now that they won, the prices will probably go back up. Should've bought one yesterday.

1exotic 02-03-2009 10:04 PM

What a goal by Burrows, FINALLY canucks won a game.

Harvey Specter 02-03-2009 10:21 PM

I don't know any sites with cheap jersey but cheap + sports jersey = fakes and be very careful with the jerseys on eBay because 99% are fake.

cdizzle_996 02-03-2009 10:31 PM

Fuck was it loud in there. Burr's standing o was pretty sweet.

goo3 02-03-2009 11:13 PM

good, now we just gotta fix our pk.

we had 2 guys trying to block the shot AGAIN! WTF, how dense are they? 5 on 4 turns into a 5 on 3. Might as well just score on your own net.

MG1 02-03-2009 11:27 PM

The PK at the end of the night came through, big time. Not only the short handed goal, but killed off the remainder of the penalty with the goalie pulled. I would like to see how the short handed play developed......... was too busy cheering and gnawing on the finger as he was going in on the breakaway.

I'm not complaining, but why does it have to be a dramatic/nail biting ordeal at the end of the game? We should just win games by 4 or 5 goals. Then, the old ticker can handle it.

Nice! Kes got a standing ovation on Saturday too when he scored with 15 sec remaining. I'm glad that fans are recognizing the players that play hard to keep the team in the game.

Not sure if Sundin got booed today, but last Saturday, people were beginning to boo him when he had the puck. I'm glad he picked up a few points today, but I still don't think he's at the point where he's an impact player. He really got lucky on the goal today (it bounced off the goalie's skate) so it wasn't really a great skill goal.

MG1 02-03-2009 11:46 PM

Any of you going to the Canucks practice on Saturday, Feb 7?

It's by invitation only. For members of Fan Zone Insider. 10:15 to 11:15. Underground parking is free, too.
