They were already talking about it on Pratt, and Taylor last night.

hi5-ive 02-27-2009 09:15 AM

offtopic, if you have unlimited text msgs, tsn text alert is also no extra cost right?

Ohlund or SOB is most like gone by the deadline. I hope they keep SOB as he has some potential and is determined to prove that he belongs.. Ohlund has been great but if he gets traded for someone that will help our team then I'm all up for it.

Edit: Forgot to add that I think this is a solid pickup by the canucks! good job MG!

here's the info about it

http://www.tsn.ca/text_alerts/

Thanks to TSN, you can stay on top of unfolding events no matter where you are. As soon as important news breaks you can receive a TSN Breaking News Alert text message on your mobile device, direct from the SportsCentre newsroom.

If you're an existing TSN.ca user, simply go here to update your preferences to include your mobile phone number and which sports you wish to receive TSN Breaking News Alerts for. If you haven't joined TSN.ca yet, this is a great time to do it - not only can you subscribe to alerts, you can also sign up for our Morning Sports News email, and be the first to know about contests and prize giveaways. New users can register here.

Do I have to pay for the alerts?

The amount charged for each message will depend on your mobile service contract, but there is no premium charge; standard carrier text message rates apply. Please contact your carrier if you are unsure about how much you are charged for text messages in your plan.

I have a 150/500/unlimited messaging bundle with my carrier. Will I be charged for these messages on top of my bundle fee?

TSN News Alerts cost no more to receive than messages you receive from your friends. Please check with your carrier for more information about text messaging charges on your plan.

How many alerts will I receive?

For every league (NHL, CFL, NFL, NBA and MLB) you subscribe to, you can expect 5-10 alerts per week, depending on the time of year.

stuff99 02-27-2009 09:52 AM

I don't like how both TSN and Sportsnet now got rid of their player scouting reports.

I'm not. Ohlund is one of our best hitters and is a consistently reliable D for the 11 years he's worked here. Since they're roughly around the same price, I'd rather lose Bieksa than Ohlund.

Although the down-side is that Bieksa's trade value does not equal to Ohlund's so the return might not yield the same impact.

68style 02-27-2009 10:16 AM

I like Ohlund too.... but he's gone after this season, so it's better to keep Bieksa. Problem is, Ohlund is like our own little Mats Sundin... he has a NTC and he may not waive it, so we could just end up losing him for nothing much like Toronto with Sundin.

Do they give your cell number to third parties??

cuz i'm afraid of being text spammed haha

in other words..do u get advertisement tex msgs or that kinda stuff?

AzNightmare 02-27-2009 12:53 PM

Although Ohlund has been solid, trading him now (if he waives his NTC) would be good then. Better than to let him leave for nothing.

Trading SOB is kinda pointless. Canucks won't get anything that would help the team significantly.
