Probably cuz it was. They ALWAYS go for the soft play in close even when there's no soft play to be made.

Yah, it's called playing on a winning team + NTC + RFA too if I'm not mistaken.

Now you have players that don't care for much either way if they were to keep playing for Vancouver or not.

(Jovo too I believe preferred to stay in Van)

Anyways, kinda makes you wonder about things...
Now, you have a hard salary cap + UFA + a team that's not exactly an SJ.

lol isnt that how he usually posts?

The commentators from TB are so stupid. They were saying something about Burrows "diving" or something like that when he got pushed from behind and drew a penalty. Didn't Burrows get ejected from the game for doing the exact same thing last game?

cdizzle_996 02-28-2009 07:13 AM

According to the Tampa commentators, Abbotsford is south of Vancouver through the rockies, and new the BC and Alberta Border.

Does anyone know where you can get those sections or those special club seats or whichever? the ones just behind the lower bowl. I'm interested in setting something up with some friends but have no idea where to begin to look.

TIA

Soundy 02-28-2009 08:19 AM

15,000 of about 18-and-a-half thousand seats in GM Place are season tickets... which means pretty much the entire lower bowl is already sold. Only way to get those seats is to buy them from the season ticket holder... and the best way to do that is through canucks.com, either the Prime Seat Club or their Ticket Auction.

SumAznGuy 02-28-2009 10:00 AM

He is talking about the rooms that are just behind the lower bowl seats.

You mean the box seats right? try craigslist. then just meet the guy before the game to make sure u guys get in ... if not, kick his ass =)

Hondaracer 02-28-2009 11:49 AM

to get into one of the boxes you will need to know somone, or rent out a suite yourself which will be $$$

majority of them are owned, and the ones u can rent out are usually taken by law firms etc.

A somewhat bizarre chain of events occurred tonight involving New York Islanders' forward Bill Guerin.

Guerin was pulled from the team's lineup after the warmup, just prior to this evening's game against the Buffalo Sabres.

According to a source, Guerin is not hurt and there is a strong belief he was taken off the ice and out of New York's lineup in order to wait for a trade.

Guerin, who would be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, has a no-move clause and sources close to the veteran forward say he has not yet been asked to waive it.

According to www.islanderspointblank.com, sources say the Islanders have a deal in principle to send Guerin 'to an Eastern team' which would be finalized on Sunday. The report indicates the Islanders would receive an early-round draft pick in return.

Sources tell TSN that Guerin has been told he likely will not learn which team has expressed interest until the morning, as the Islanders work on finalizing a deal. However, if a deal is in the works, the Boston Bruins are not involved in the trade.

A trade cannot go through without Guerin's consent.

I think all American broadcasters are homers. They comment on their team like they could do no wrong. I noticed that a lot when I was living in Denver and watching the broadcast on Versus. They'd totally call the game very one sided...which I guess would be good for the viewing audience since most of them are from the home city.

The difference with the Canadian broadcasters (both CBC and Sportsnet) is that they call it how it is. If the opposition makes a good play, they call it as they see it. If the home team plays crappy, they call it as it is. It was actually pretty refreshing to see an unbiased calling of the game.

Their comment on the Burrows boarding call was BS. The refs have been calling that pretty consistently in other games as well. The announcer for TB obviously thought it was marginal at beast. Hell, even the coaches didn't give the refs shit for it.

BTW, Burrows got ejected last game for getting his stick up in the face of the opponent IIRC...the ejection was because they thought he had "the intent to injure".

Vaananen skated with his new team and the 28-year-old veteran of almost 500 NHL games could play Sunday against Columbus.
Vaananen's arrival will no doubt spark further chatter about his future with the club. If Vaananen were to dress, Shane O'Brien would likely be the odd man out.
dam but SOB is the man!
