I know that everyone has already had there 2 cents about the Canucks losing. Everyone is dissapointed I know. To be honest, they would have never beaten Detroit. That would have been even more depressing. Why would they have lost? Detroit has the edge on skill oblivously but player for player Canucks would have been able to hold its own. Vancouver's real weakness is coaching. AV is a terrible coach. Changes styles, lines, ideas faster than a gang member gets shot in 604.

I noticed in the STL, and CHI series when the momentum was on Vancouver's side say in the middle of the 2nd or end of 1st period the coachs would call timeouts (NOT VANCOUVER). Calm the players down, tell them that there only behind 1 or 2, relax just skate, play hard use the tatics they had discussed earlier or had been playing all season. It always worked! It always seemed to change the momentum and STL, CHI would both score 2 or 3 shifts after. Now this was more crucial in the CHI series because Vancouver never really had a plan it seemed. Game 1 was just play (IT WORKED) they lost the lead but pulled through. Game 2 they had no idea what plan they were following. Game 4 was retarded, I understand protecting a lead. NOT A 1-0 lead. I would have gone for 2 or 3. Then game 5-6 they decided to play CHI style and lost both. I can go on and on....

I really think that AV can be blamed for the lose. He is such a smug AHOLE he hasnt accepted any of it. Players before have commented on him before(Naslund), and we will go no where with him. ITS TIME TO BRING IN A PLAYOFF EXPERIANCED COACH. FUCK THE REGULAR SEASON. LOOK at ANAHEIM, beat number 1 and brought game 7 on number 2. That wasnt because they were the most skilled, it was because they were the best coached.

FUCK I HATE AV!

Before anything gets done, signing, trading bring in a new Coach and discuss what the new Playoff experianced coach thinks. NO MORE LOSING! 2010 CANADA WINS GOLD, CANUCKS WIN CUP. NO MORE DICKIN AROUND.

SumAznGuy 05-16-2009 11:16 AM

Not sure everyone know's this, but AV was an assistant coach in Ottawa during the Alexander Daige fiasco that litterally pushed Yashin to quit on the team.

saiko 05-16-2009 11:26 AM

What happened with Daige and Yashin?!

Cressydrift, if you think you've got coaching all figured out, lets see you man a professional team. Go back to CDC lol.

cressydrift 05-16-2009 11:32 AM

If I was Coach or Gm of the Canucks. We would win the cup.

Yashin was a good player he just cared about money more then the game and once he got paid he stopped trying.

850 games and 781 Points is pretty damm good by any standards.

Despite being a bust, Daigle played quite a few season and Yashin played MANY putting up LOTS of points and getting a HUGE contract with the islanders. If that's not being a NHLers then I dunno what is.

Hondaracer 05-16-2009 04:52 PM

Daigle never scored more then 25 goals and never got more then 51 points, he is arguably the biggest bust first overall pick ever considering the players that went after him, ie. yzerman at 4 etc.

Yashin was good but both players were always more concerned with money and had more interest with things off the ice than on it

players like that get you no where and are not a reference point for anything

DanHibiki 05-16-2009 04:55 PM

Just because they don't get you anywhere doesn't make them non-NHLers. Is Darcy Hordichuk gonna get me the Stanley Cup?

I see your point bout them being bust and whatnot but it's not fair to call them non-NHLers. Cause if so, then 80% of the players in the league aren't NHLers

I would say I only half disagree. AV is a good coach depending on the team. If he had a team full of pluggers and grinders, then AV is your man.

However, we are far from the team we were 3 seasons ago. Despite Chicago being Chicago, and Detroit for being what it is, it's not like we were short on talent and offensive resources either.

Fistric plays for Dallas - in fact, he played at least a couple games with them against the Canucks this year. Bliznak was drafted by the Canucks in '05 - he was here for training camp at least this past year, don't recall if I saw him at TC before that.
