Not watching hockey after your team is eliminated doesn't necessarily make you a bandwagoner. Being the biggest homer when the team is winning and putting the team down when they're losing is what I consider a bandwagoner.

I heard that the Prime Minister called up Sidney Crosby and congratulated him.. Do you guys know if the Prime Minister invites the team to Ottawa?

Hondaracer 06-15-2009 09:56 AM

^ doubt it when it's an American team

I know before the wings went to the white house and bill Clinton absolutely butchered Steve yzermans last name lol

Ikkaku 06-15-2009 09:59 AM

I heard a lot of people were sent home without autographs, because time ran out due to the massive line up :lol

Looks like Balsillie's bid is done. I'm glad the judge sided with the NHL.

Harvey Specter 06-17-2009 10:48 PM

Hey guys, a bit off topic but I got my dad a Cristiano Ronaldo autograph jersey which he signed himself with my dad’s name. I want to have it framed and give to him before or after father’s day; can you guys suggest any places that will be able to do this?

shawn79 06-17-2009 11:23 PM

^ i tried doing same thing with my kesler auto'd jersey but the frame prob worth more than the jersey itself + framing job

richmond center (forgot the name) and micheals arts and craft store does it

Why's that?

On a side note, Burke rips into Heatley about demanding a trade...and he has no interest in him because he did that to his team.

lol isn't that what Pronger did to the Oilers and he had no problem trading for Pronger.

I love how Burke manages to put himself in the headlines by giving his opinion on the matter when one one cared for his opinion anyways.

There was a thread on canucks.com about places that frame but after a few quick searches it didn't come up. Well their forums search engine sucks balls anyways so not surprised. Anyways I know this place does it but you gotta call for price cause I'm not sure.

Harvey Specter 06-17-2009 11:47 PM

I have a few reasons but the main reason I'm glad his bid failed is I don't like how Balsillie forces his way in anytime a struggling team is put on the market and says he's going to move the team no matter what the NHL or the board of governors has to say. Remember, he was about to move the Pens a few years back and look at the Pens now.

According to a report on Swedish website expressen.se, Daniel and Henrik Sedin are looking for identical 12-year contracts worth $63 million each, similar to the one signed by fellow countryman Henrik Zetterberg with the Detroit Red Wings.

!Nhan 06-18-2009 08:00 AM

I wouldn't doubt their salary being top heavy and easing off near the end. TSN does state it's fairly similar to zetterbergs contract so yeah. 5.25 is a good price per year average for the twins.

asahai69 06-18-2009 08:03 AM

sign them.

Soundy 06-18-2009 08:03 AM

The beauty of the current CBA is that it could be front-loaded to $8M/year the first couple years, then dropping off after that, and it still only amounts to a $5.25M cap hit.

Assuming the rumours are true, this would be a pretty good deal for the team. Who was just suggesting letting them both go and taking Heatley at $8M?? Yeah, that's a replacement for ONE of them... where you gonna find a SECOND point-a-game player for the remaining $2.5M?

MR_BIGGS 06-18-2009 08:11 AM

Just saw that report too...point a game players are hard to replace....other factors makes me think that you would have to at least consider it..i don't mind it...

Factors for me that would make me want to sign them:
-Have never had major injuries or even missed substantial amount of games
-Have never complained about coaching or coaching systems
-Have put up excellent numbers despite having a 1st line winger to play with

We're still gonna need one of those. (One way or another)

So far, we have 1 goal scorer and 1 playmaker and a bus load of checkers that can score once in a while.

As good as the Sedins and Luongo are, that's still seriously lacking for any serious Cup run.

hotjoint 06-18-2009 08:40 AM

sign them!

winson604 06-18-2009 09:14 AM

Think what you want about the Sedins but for a 5.25 mill cap hit there is no question this is an insane deal for the type of production they produce on a year to year basis. I'm totally down with this deal assuming the numbers are true.

You have to be..like on the team 1040 poll...its almost a 50 50 split on whether they should be signed barring the numbers are true...

How do u replace 2 ppg players....(yes with 2 other ppg players) but whose available for what they are asking...
