Got 5 hrs down on my back. I think the back might be more painful than the ribs.. 3 more 5 hr sessions.

Have a friend who's going to be visiting the philippines, she wanted me to do her a favor and ask if anyone on here would happen to know a good shop or artist over there.

is she looking for philipino native tribal style? or is she just looking for a deal?

usually when ppl ask whether one knows "good" artist in thailand philipines indonesia etc is looking for a cheap tattoo not a good tattoo. If you can't find a good artist before you go to an area there is either no good artist or your are not dedicated enough to have a good tattoo. Beside everybody's good is subjective and some artist can be amazing in one style and crap in another .

If she really wants a good tattoo and not just a deal I guarantee she will get a much better tattoo here with a proper consultation and some time to think it over.

No saying philipines don't have good artist just that people that get tattoo on travel with this mentally usually end up with shit tattoo even though its "recommended"

just a little rant, seen wayyyy too many ppl showing off "kickass" tattoo from thailand promptly follow by a brag about how cheap it is and yes it definately looks cheap.

Yeah getting a tattoo as a souvenir seems like kind of a dumb idea.. but to each their own

I disagree to an extent. If you can get a good tattoo as a commemoration of your trip its fucking wicked. But yeah a garbage tattoo for the sake of a souvenir is dumb.

Alpine50 11-16-2012 03:37 AM

Yeah I totally agree but she's going hella small on this first one its going to be on her wrist. I just thought maybe someone had a shop they might be able to recommend more safety I guess. But I'm guessing in terms of the size it won't matter as much where she goes but then again I don't know much about tattooing myself....

She should just get one locally when she gets back from her trip

Sigh a super tiny tattoo on vacation... Convince her to get a fridge magnet instead lol.

Tip on showing your tattoo to people: don't tell them what a 'great deal' you got by switching artists or whatever ;)

Ri2 11-21-2012 12:37 AM

@skinnypupp how come??? is it rude??? If so, I did it unintentionally and I apologize :)

SkinnyPupp 11-22-2012 08:08 AM

That's the point! The original was shit, the coverup made it look cool without having to turn it into a big black piece
