Well that's a pretty subjective question. Look through the photos and decide. It's going on your body. Posted via RS Mobile |

arden ross' work looks freakin amazing btw. |
I'd think artists would sympathize a bit with your situation and hopefully be more likely to take it on. |

The following is an anonymous post from an anonymous Revscene member Hey recently got my back done, its flaking a lot all over and its so - so itchy. However it does not hurt or I am not sore, I have read the tattoo faq section but want some member advice. I want to go lift some weights, would sweating be bad? If not I wouldnt mind going to the gym tomorrow and doing some workouts, but if it makes a difference I shall not. When will the itch go away, and whats after flaking? The tattoo is done ? I have a few more hours in the lower area but after that I should be complete, will I flake all over agian? My main concern is what should I do now, and if im able to go to the gym. |
Don't go to the gym for at least 2-3 weeks AFTER the itching goes away, IMO. If it's somewhere that wouldn't be touched, no problem. But on your back is a bad idea |
@vancityguy - I don't know how many times I have posted artist recommendations in this thread but here we go again. for portraits go see Donovan at Lady Luck Tattoo. That is who Rope Hope is referring all his portrait work to, as he is burnt out from doing so many. Rob is one of Canadas best at portraits and at tattooing in general. a couple other options. Art Godoy - Funhouse tatoo Jesse young - Six gill tattoo I would definitely not recommend Jesse Strong at Steveston for a portrait. He specializes in lettering and Americana traditional. sucks you had a bad experience with Jesse. It is almost always the CLIENTS fault that the tattoo did not heal properly. You went to one of the best artists in Van, He knows what he is doing. I highly doubt he over worked you as he has some of smoothest shading around and has been tattooing for like 16 years or something like that. I have never seen a bad tattoo from him in the 10 years I have known about him. Just because other tattoos have healed fine doesn't mean squat. I have been getting tattooed for 14 years and almost every piece has healed differently. Also different areas of the epidermis heal differently. I have bumped heads with him before and he can be stubborn. In the end I realized he was right and I should of listened to him. |
^ I meants jesse young, thank you for the clarification. I have a black and gray piece from jesse and is very satisfy |

Nice man, I've seen some amazing portraits from Art. He loves doing very detailed intricate pieces. Him and his twin bro are world renowned for skateboarding, tattooing and tattoo machining skills. I've seen quite a few local artists go by Funhouse to get their tattoo machines tuned up. Jeff Tam was in there when I was getting a piece done. Its kinda funny cuz him and Jesse use to work together way back when Art first opened up shop. Thinking about it more you are right he should of just fixed the tattoo. One bad experience can ruin a artists rep. Thats the problem with tattooing its still not really a truly professional trade/career as it is so loosely regulated. It wasn't that long ago when it was still dominated by the biker outlaw type crowd. |
does gordy have like a porfolio online? trying to look through funhouse's blog but its got other artist work i just want to see gordy's stuff |
thank guys. will be booking with Art to get my piece fixed up. |
Went to see Arden today apparently I can't get what I wanted done.... Not enough room to work with the amount if script I wanted obviously not going to complain he's the pro, sucks though cause I thought it would work out. Time to re think what I want next and where. Posted via RS Mobile |
