Any hockey shop will bake your skates but they will charge you (not 100% sure on the price) unless you purchased your skates from them.

v1nce: i've got the magnesium vanguard chassis, and i've got another vanguard chassis, and you don't really notice a difference, cause the heaviest part of a skate are the wheels and bearings, the only difference that i've ever noticed is switching from regular bearings to mini bearings, that is the best decision i've ever made with rollers...

and you can't screw up baking skates, you put them in an oven for 10 minutes... well it all depends on what the skates recommend, i know that missions and bauer are 8 minutes, with skate ovens it has an auto temperature, there is no dial for temperatures, so sport chek can't screw it up, if you are worried, just bring it to sport chek and bring a timer with you, and then just watch the time and tell the guy once the skates hit 8-10 mins...

also, if you are a regular customer with your local hockey shop, then they will do it for free, i know that mine (time out source for sports) did it for me for free, and i know pretty much all the guys that work there (own the store)

really?

i did mine for free, twice!

and you're just using their oven, they're not doing anything else with your skates. should be pretty safe if you know how the moulding process works

anyone know where I can pick up a JR size inline chassis? Even the small sizes for the mission chassis are way to big.

what size skates are you using? small mission sizes chassis fit skates from size 6-8, and medium is 8-10 and large is anything bigger
so unless you are using a junior skate, then there is no point in getting a junior chassis

it was the hefty 400 dollar price tag. and the fact that the nhl shut it down.

Too many gimmicky products and fads were introduced into the hockey market. I expect Blade Tapes to go next. I love fresh tape jobs on my stick and I'd rather pay $10 for several rolls of tape instead of $10 for 2 sheets of cut rubber with an adhesive backing.

We have a group set up on Facebook to buy/sell/trade your used gear... http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=63757185287 Anyone can join as long as you live in the lower mainland. The point is to exchange your gear without having to deal with shipping or online payments.
