What the heck's up with Pronger's skates? The entire tongue is hanging out! Looks ridiculous.

They kept on showing Vince Vaughn in the front row too...

Grabner's skates are the same way.

OV has the same thing. They've got extended tounges. It allows for more forward flex but don't know how well it works.... i think its more about preference than anything

Greenstoner 06-07-2010 10:55 AM

is that michael jordon ?? wow, he is out of shape ..hahaha

woob 06-07-2010 11:12 AM

^^ He's allowed to be after what he accomplished. That badass mofo was the only reason I watched basketball when I was a kid. Oh and Space Jam too.

Greenstoner 06-07-2010 11:28 AM

^ oh yeah,. i watched basketball coz MJ too.. most of the kids were sticking out their tongue while shooting or doing a lay up .. lol ... he was everyone's idol

The Flyers are a resilient bunch, and are undefeated when facing elimination this year (not the greatest stat but hey they’re 4-0). I hate to count them out in Philly, and you know Richards is going to step up.

Hartnell looks injured badly right now, and Pronger may be banged up as well. As some have mentioned, and what I think would be a reason the Flyers lose is that it may be midnight for Leighton’s Cinderella run.

I want to see a game 7.
The only positive I can take from the Hawks winning the Cup is, the Cup hangover they would hopefully have for next season, and not having some key guys back because of the salary cap.

A small consolation for a Canucks fan.

Gumby 06-07-2010 12:48 PM

If Chicago gets their 16th win, the cup will obviously be presented to Toews. After he's finished with the cup, who will he give it to next? Hossa? :p

Hossa gets it last, after the waterboy

No it's not. Those are plastic covers that go over the laces on his skates for extra protection when he blocks shots.

Hamhuis - Alright
Volchenkov - Unlikely as he will command way too much money
Martin - Tank but I don't exactly see how he fits in
Michelak - Ehhhh
Armstrong - Don't need more forwards when we need room to fit rookies
Kariya - Yeah.... :troll:

its not an extended tongue
he just bends them out in front of the shin pad instead of tucking it underneath
personal preference for every player

I'm not really for that idea. I mean, what are we going to do with bernier?

how is that extended? all they do is wear their tongues on the outside of their shin pads

SumAznGuy 06-07-2010 09:56 PM

Maybe Gumpy needs to better explain him comment, but I thought he was refering to that loose dangling thing on his skates. You can clearly see it floping around as he was getting up from the hit.

If that was case, then I stand behind what I said about them being protectors.

raygunpk 06-07-2010 11:00 PM

yep Pronger wears protectors to prevent injury on his foot when blocking shots. he was one of the first to start wearing them.
