I for one, acutally love the shootouts. I might even like it more than the first 65 minutes that comes before it... =/

Regular win - 2
OT/SO win - 1.5
OT/SO loss - 0.5
Regular loss - 0

This way, every game is worth two points, as it had always been, but losers still get a little something for getting to overtime.

i've always been a fan of soccer style where you get 3 points for the win (FTW! :P)

Only 2 scenarios...
Winner, 2 points // Loser, 0 points = 2 points total.
OT winner, 1.5 points // Loser, 0.5 points = 2 points total.

I don't see how you added up to 3 points??

Soccer style gives out 3 points for a win, 1 point each for a tie (2 points given out in total).
This system means, depending on the outcome of the game, some games give out 3 points, some give out only 2.
Which throws us back into the same problem we are trying to solve right now.

All games should give out the same amount of points regardless of the outcome.

as much as the debate goes
on air yestrday, the players do not like it

it doesnt make it more competitative
once u end up at the bottom
thats it

hotjoint 12-16-2009 08:00 AM

haha my solution

Win - 2
Loss - 0

Nice and easy, no OT/shooutout points. It'll make all the shitty teams suffer :lol

That's too bad then that the audience are the paying customers.

I for one am a big fan of shoot-outs for the same reason why a lot of people like poker.

Shoot-outs in hockey is like poker's river card.

Bought the team Russia jersey at the bay to get signed

the jersey is probably the best value as I would think you would be hard pressed to find a signed ovi jersey at that price.

how much is the jersey?

They're charging $275 for a blank replica Russia Jersey. The signing is run by the same crooks (Game Day Auctions) that run the silent auctions at Canucks games. I dropped by the Olympic store today to check it out and I was ready to spend some money before I saw the Game Day thieves and decided not to.

The cheapest item is a photo or poster that goes for about $100. Times that by 400 people and that's $40,000 in their pocket. That number will be even higher when you factor in people buying multiple items or buying $100+ items. I was going to spend money on a jersey as well as bringing 1-2 small items (McFarlane bases) to get signed but you can't bring in any of your own things. All of your items have to be purchased from Game Day.

What really has me confused about this one is everybody was going up in arms about the Kesler, Burrows, and Pyatt signing last year where they were going to charge $25 a pop. Nobody complains about having to pay for this Ovechkin signing or at the monthly Bossa shows.

$275?!

Ok fuck that :lol

Blank replicas go for around $100 @ Coolhockey.com

Lol I dont even know, at least 8-10 off the top of my head

my dad actually grabbed it for me since he works downtown but I'll have to go lineup Tom, I think the jersey was only 245? For the price a signed jersey is worth it IMO but the thing is, once it's signed do I really want to give it to the hockey shop etc to get ovi's name on the back? :S

Yup, Morrisonn (not B-Mo, the other one) will be showing the Caps around town tonight. Varly, Alzner, Laing & Neuvirth picking up the tabs, which are usually around 20K for the night.

I was at the Wild/Canucks game on the weekend. I couldn't believe it when I saw The Caps/Leafs score.

Oh and just got a call to go with a friend to the game tonight. First time in the box seats should be exciting. Maybe his clients will shell out some Pens tickets too. lol
