There are 243 non forwards who have as many points or more than Komisarek - 15 of them are goaltenders.

Greenstoner 12-14-2009 10:10 PM

^ did i miss the humor or something in that picture ???

8 points playing basketball ????

Harvey Specter 12-14-2009 10:30 PM

Talk about a waste of $4 million per season. I never understood the hype over Komisarek, he had all but 10 points last season and his overall career numbers are a joke for a guy making as much as he's making.

Greenstoner 12-14-2009 10:31 PM

can i redeem my fail with this video ? i done a little research :P

in 38 games, Dallas is 14-8-10 for 38 points.

over 25% of their points have come from LOSSES and over half the time they have lost, they have gotten points from it anyway. if there were no loss points, their win-loss record would be 4 games under .500, instead of 6 games over. and instead of being in the playoffs, they would be in the bottom 3 of the conference.

loss points are garbage, especially with the way the point structure currently is.

it should be:

regulation win = 2pts. regulation loss = 0pts
OT win = 2pts. OT loss = 0pts
SO win = 1pt. SO loss = 0pts

you lose, you fuckin lose.

the league wants to increase excitement in games. but with the way things are, teams can sandbag thru the regulation and especially OT because they know they are guaranteed a point, and might luck out with a SO win for 2. if the point system was how i described, the risk of not getting that 1 point by getting to OT would encourage both teams to earn a W.

3 point games are also ruining the league and can make the difference between making and missing the playoffs. imagine if calgary (our last game of the season) was in 8th in the conference and was 2 points up on vancouver, with 3 more OT losses, but we had 1 more win than them. all they need to do is play to not lose in regulation, and they're in and we're out.

I disagree.

I think the biggest concern is that each game does not give away the same amount the points, which makes the ranking inconsistent. IMO it should be something like this:

Regular win - 3
OT/SO win - 2
OT/SO loss - 1
Regular loss - 0

Then each game would be contributing exactly 3 pts each regardless of outcome.

Damn...the Caps are in town Friday so this makes sense. Perfect opportunity to pick up a Team Russia jersey ... :D

I personally would rather have it this way.
Of course all sorts of records will be broken, such as teams with the most highest points in one season. But oh well, new era to NHL.

Wow, just realized Canucks are the ONLY team with 0 OTLs right now. So wonder we're calling FOUL. But this is BS!

With drains like that, he should be a pool boy!

Harvey Specter 12-15-2009 04:39 AM

Komisarek looks like he's wearing eyeliner in the video plus his eyebrows are overdone. Looking a bit queer if you ask me or he's trying to pull a "Pyatt".

http://i47.tinypic.com/2j2e2vb.jpg

Bouncing Bettys 12-15-2009 07:27 AM

Komisarek is a defensive defenseman so im no disappointed with his point prodcution. his stats, along with the rest of the leafs d-core's are scewed a bit by the first 10-15 games or so. back then, everyone was adjusting to their new roles on a vastly revamped d-core. it took some time and they have been steadily improving over the last 10 games.

if they had played .500 hockey in the the first 10 games they would be safely in a playoff spot right now. a number of the loses came in games where they outworked and outshot the other team. it could even be argued that they deserved to win that game against the canucks. what has helped has been improved goaltending - Toskala has looked pretty solid. the other big change was the arrival of Kessel. he has shut up the critics who said he was nothing without Savard and has elevated the play of his teammates.

as for the loser points - i hate them. Dan Russell is right in refering to the shootout as "the circus." its a gimmick and the novelty has worn off. keep overtime but could we please have ties back?

MR_BIGGS 12-15-2009 08:49 AM

Komisarek is overrated! He made the all star team last year because he played in Montreal.
