Gumby 12-15-2009 10:35 AM

Crap, I'm going to tomorrow's game against Anaheim, who are last place in the West. I hope we don't play down to their level and lose.

Ohlund is beast, get rid of Komisarik.

So Flames down 4-3, 1 minute left with a 6-4 and they lose, lol. If the Canucks win tomorrow, they're 2 points from the Flames.

bigassbooger 12-15-2009 06:52 PM

if there was no such thing as loser points, we would be tied for the division

Good news is we have games in hand on the Avs so been first in the NW could happen soon if we keep winning.

mako 12-15-2009 07:04 PM

Avs are getting killed by the Caps

Damn...the Caps are in town Friday so this makes sense. Perfect opportunity to pick up a Team Russia jersey ... :D

They're charging $275 for a blank replica Russia Jersey. The signing is run by the same crooks (Game Day Auctions) that run the silent auctions at Canucks games. I dropped by the Olympic store today to check it out and I was ready to spend some money before I saw the Game Day thieves and decided not to.

The cheapest item is a photo or poster that goes for about $100. Times that by 400 people and that's $40,000 in their pocket. That number will be even higher when you factor in people buying multiple items or buying $100+ items. I was going to spend money on a jersey as well as bringing 1-2 small items (McFarlane bases) to get signed but you can't bring in any of your own things. All of your items have to be purchased from Game Day.

What really has me confused about this one is everybody was going up in arms about the Kesler, Burrows, and Pyatt signing last year where they were going to charge $25 a pop. Nobody complains about having to pay for this Ovechkin signing or at the monthly Bossa shows.

MR_BIGGS 12-15-2009 07:12 PM

They have two different Russian jerseys at Footlocker on Robson. $129.99

Hondaracer 12-15-2009 07:16 PM

^ cant bring those to get signed though lol

i might be going to the ovi signing if theres anything left to buy tom..

anyways.. check this out

lol burke rides bettmans dick so hard..

in reference to PHX:

"this is a great town that can definitely support a franchise long term"

"if you had to give a letter grade to gary in terms of how he has handled this situation it would have to be an A+"

are you fucking kidding me?

mako 12-15-2009 07:16 PM

i've got a blue one i can sell

its used but looks mint

Harvey Specter 12-15-2009 07:18 PM

That's some BS, charging people that much money to get a bloody autograph. I would rather mail a jersey to the Caps head office with a letter enclosed asking Ovechkin to sign it.

Harvey Specter 12-15-2009 07:31 PM

Looks like the Caps will be the top in the NHL after tonight.

I disagree.

I think the biggest concern is that each game does not give away the same amount the points, which makes the ranking inconsistent. IMO it should be something like this:

Regular win - 3
OT/SO win - 2
OT/SO loss - 1
Regular loss - 0

Then each game would be contributing exactly 3 pts each regardless of outcome.

I agree on the point that it doesn't make sense that some games are worth two points, and other games are worth three points.

But I have a much better solution to everything...

Regular win - 2
OT/SO win - 1.5
OT/SO loss - 0.5
Regular loss - 0

This way, every game is worth two points, as it had always been, but losers still get a little something for getting to overtime.

uhhh, every game would be worth 3 points ...

i've always been a fan of soccer style where you get 3 points for the win (FTW! :P)

spoon.ek9 12-15-2009 08:47 PM

i think the 2 points system InvisibleSoul posted would work better than what's going on now with loser points.

thats nearly the same shit as it is now, it would just make the loser point a little less relevant

personally i wouldnt mind going back to tie's and playing a full 10 or 20 minute OT

Uh what? Every game would be worth two points, which is how it had always been until recently...

Duh? That's the whole point... it's a compromise between awarding nothing for getting to overtime, and awarding too much for getting to overtime... and at the same time, it keeps it a two point per game system.

Regular win - 3
OT/SO win - 2
OT/SO loss - 1
Regular loss - 0

which is what you quoted and said some games would only add up to 2.

from what i can see, every game adds up to 3.

What I wrote was referring to what the system is NOW.
