Greenstoner 12-14-2009 08:25 AM

sweet, company just sent out an email for drawing pair of ticket tonight... hopefully im the lucky guy tonight

Tim Budong 12-14-2009 10:50 AM

i LOL'd so hard at the row clearing brawl in the crowd Saturday at sec.101 or 102

anyways, as for Kesler, he wasnt too pleased in that interview after the game whereas mitchell was laughing it off

on the other hand, Kes is an awesome player, but off the ice, he's a douchebag...this is no joke

but the funny thing between the two is...kesler in most cases rides shotgun to practice/games in willie's PRIUS

Gumby 12-14-2009 11:06 AM

Mitchell's idea of a good time is a quiet fishing trip & camping.

Kesler, maybe not. :)

Greenstoner 12-14-2009 11:06 AM

my impression for canucks douchebags are kesler & SOB & Rypien (off the ice).

i've seen Rypien refused to sign a picture from a Handicapped person, perhaps he is busy and gotta go somwhere but i was pretty choke to see that. (their image is so good dealing with children with illness or any disable person)

Reports indicate former NHL goaltender Martin Gerber suffered a serious injury playing for Atlant Mytischi of the Kontinental Hockey League and he may be sidelined for months.

According to Russian website lifesports.ru, Gerber was involved in a collision during a game against Vityaz Chekhov and left the ice on a stretcher.

He was diagnosed with a compression fracture of one of his cervical vertebra and could be in hospital for two months.

"The injury is very serious," Dr. Igor Suvorov told the website. "Martin can forget about hockey for the next six months."

Gerber, who was signed by Atlant Mytischi to replace former Senators' teammate Ray Emery, started his NHL career with the Anaheim Ducks in the season 2002-03 before making stops in Carolina, Ottawa and Toronto.

Referee's CPR saved hockey player's life

Published: 14 Dec 09 08:10 CET

A quick thinking referee saved the life of a Swedish ice hockey player after the player’s heart stopped during a match on Sunday.

Just after the eight minute mark of the first period in the much anticipated Hockey Allsvenskan match between Örebro and nearby Bofors, Örebro’s Niklas Lihagen collapsed lifeless to the ice.

“I realized right away that it was serious,” referee Wolmer Edqvist told the Expressen newspaper after the incident.

The 26-year-old Lihagen fell to the ice after taking a seemingly innocuous hit against the boards.

Bofors team doctor Peter Karlsson arrived first at Lihagen’s side

“When I got there he was still conscious. But after a few seconds he lost consciousness,” Karlsson told the newspaper.

Edqvist rushed to the aid of the 26-year-old Lihagen and began administering CPR.

“I knew we had about four minutes to bring him back to life,” the referee told Expressen.

Within a few minutes, Lihagen once again began showing signs of life. Two ambulances then arrived on the ice to take the injured player to hospital in Örebro, where he is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

Team officials from Örebro were thankful that Edqvist, a trained emergency medical technician, was assigned to officiate Sunday’s game.

“Fortunately Wolmer was the referee,” Örebro’s head of player operations Mikael Fahlander told Expressen.

“It was a nightmare. I felt totally powerless.”

Speaking with the local Karlskoga-Kuriren newspaper, Edqvist reflected on the fact that he was assigned to be the referee for a hockey game during which a player’s heart stopped.

“One wonders whether there was some reason for it,” he said, looking up toward the ceiling of the arena.

The game was suspended following the incident and Allsvenskan officials are expected to announce on Monday when the match will be replayed.

and good thing that ref knew CPR in the other incident.

Grandmaster TSE 12-14-2009 11:53 AM

wow, thats some crazy stuff

Gumby 12-14-2009 12:02 PM

Not a funny incident, but Gerber doesn't fit on the stretcher with all his goalie equipment! :)

Grandmaster TSE 12-14-2009 12:42 PM

its pretty weird how if LA wins tonite, they'll be leading the entire NHL in points

Tim Budong 12-14-2009 12:46 PM

Wellwood is said to be back after spending time in the pressbox. Nucks wanna play a finnese game against the kings. Not a good idea.

Sedins scored 24pts in the past 5 between them. Let's hope they score big then grind their way thru

Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that defenceman Aaron Rome has been recalled from the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.

Rome, 26, completed a seven game conditioning assignment with the Manitoba Moose, recording seven points (6-1-7) and 15 penalty minutes. He rejoins the Canucks where he has appeared in 10 games and registered one point (0-1-1) and four penalty minutes in 2009-10.

The Nesbitt, Manitoba native signed as a free agent with the Canucks on July 2, 2009.

Harvey Specter 12-14-2009 03:22 PM

I'm guessing SOB. I'm basing it on Wellwood's return with the club saying they need skill game > physical game.

Tim Budong 12-14-2009 04:02 PM

Rome is probably a call up becuz Edler may be gone longer than expected

Hondaracer 12-14-2009 04:20 PM
