Well geez, if that's just a "reflex" and he can't prevent himself from doing shit like that, I guess he shouldn't be playing hockey any longer. Who knows when his "reflexes" act up again - maybe someone's gonna die.

Maybe the leagues "reflex" should be to permanently ban his ass.

Should piece together this song to vids of those "reflex" hits

cormier and pronger reflex elbowing each other ftw

spoon.ek9 01-22-2010 03:44 PM

cormier is such a fucking liar. absolutely no sense of remorse for what he did. i guess no one should walk by him from now on, he might elbow you as you pass!

"oops, reflexes teehee!" :2finger:

orange7 01-22-2010 04:31 PM

if anyone wants to sign up for the bodog sports book at bodog.ca use my referal code, we both benefit from it :D

code: P15B5969

Surprised more peeps aren't talking about Backes. Gillis tried to sign him in '08 and now hes got a option to trade Schiender for something real. Hmmmmmm... St Louis will want more than a goalie.

Definately not. It's been reported that he is looking for the league maximum on his next contract. That would be in the $20M/year range. I don't think anyone can build a decent team around a $20M player.

League maximum is not $20m a year. It's 20% of the salary cap (of the year the player was signed) so the maximum is around $11.5m. Highest in the league right now is $9.5m for Ovie.

@NHLSourcesSay
Rumor has Backes being dealt to Vancouver for Schnieder but my sources feel McClement and Kariya are names the Canucks may be scouting.

Ronin 01-22-2010 06:08 PM

Apparently the players involved are David Backes along with a defenseman like Mike Weaver (WEEEEEVIE!), Daryl Sydor or Carlo Colaiacovo on the Blues and Cory Schnieder.

Gillis was at the MTL/STL game and Davision (STL GM) was spotted at a Moose game.

spoon.ek9 01-22-2010 06:10 PM

oooh i hope we can get someone decent for schneider whether it's Backes or someone else. had schneider shut up and accepted his role, he would have been playing plenty of minutes at this point.

I'm not certain, but I think it's Cory Schneider that's rumored, not mathieu.

Hondaracer 01-22-2010 06:22 PM

do the blues really think that Schneider is a replacement for Mason though?

Mason hasn't been playing as well as down the stretch last season, although the team in front of him hasn't been helping. Schneider can potentially become one of the better goalies in the league and having him share time with Mason may be the best way for the Blues to develop him.

Also the Blues GM is a former goalie as well.

No. As a future #1, yes!

if they did, then they got some waiting to do
I can't really see STL trading away Backes anyways, Paul Kariya as our rental would be "interesting", but I dont think he fits with the canucks, its sorta like where does Pavol Demitra fit on this team rite now.

I can see more D being added to this team, but depth Dmen are few and rare this year, so the asking price is quite high! Carolina would be a good place to start

I have a slight feeling in the back of my head that hte asking price for Kovalchuk is STUPID high and that it might not even take sharp/barker to complete the deal.

As for my comments..
yes its harsh reality, but im speaking the truth, which is why Vancouver has some of the worst fans, its been spoken for on team1040 and we rank 5th in this SpikeTV countdown

t’s remarkable how arrogant the fan base of a team with zero Stanley Cups, no Hall of Fame players, and two homoerotic Swedish twins that seem physically afraid of the playoffs can act. It’s literally mind-boggling! These days, when they’re not too busy demanding trades on local radio shows or reminiscing about that year they almost signed Wayne Gretzky, you can usually find Canucks fans preaching about how hosting Jarome Iginla and the Canadian Olympic team will finally establish their city as a genuine hockey town (sort of like how marrying Lamar Odom made Khloe Kardashian a real celebrity – legitimacy by association).

Next time you see a suspected pyramid schemer in the corner of a trendy wine bar sporting a $200 hair cut, $900 suit, and emanating a distinct air of scumbag from his Drakkar Noir-soaked pores - go ahead and ask him about Kevin Bieksa, because odds are he’s a Vancouver Canucks fan and doesn't want to cry himself to sleep again before throwing out obscene predictions about the Norris Trophy.
i couldnt agree more
The CDC is a bathroom wall for losers

I couldnt agree more, we have the worst fan base ever. Our mentality is "what have you done for me lately" and when we are winning we go "were the canucks, watch we'll fuck it up". The majority of my friends, and my co-workers are all like this. I dont even give a response to their insights about hockey and the canucks, waste of time.

I remember a game against Tampa last season where the Lightning Broadcaster said sometihng along the lines of "I was reading the paper in Vancouver today and they ripped apart the Canucks, u'd think they'd be on a 13 game losing streak but they won 8 of 10"

raygunpk 01-22-2010 07:18 PM

same. everyones on the bandwagon if we win and off it if we lose. people say toronto is a the centre of the universe, but at least they have loyal fans. and they all understand what a rebuild means and still stay loyal throughout the years.

Hondaracer 01-22-2010 07:22 PM

when you havent won a cup in 50 years eventually you accept a rebuild

Tim Budong 01-22-2010 07:25 PM

Toronto is just different
they might have fans
but guess what
they are the WORST SPORTS CITY IN THE PAST 10YEARS

raygunpk 01-22-2010 07:28 PM

lol so true

Not really racist! 01-22-2010 07:33 PM

we're just gonna be bitter until we win the cup...

then when we dont win it the year after, everybody is gonna go on about how the canucks suck.

typical vancouverties..

noots 01-22-2010 07:53 PM

the problem with the canucks over the last few years has been mediocrity. they've never been so bad that they were able to rebuild properly through the draft, yet were never good enough to win it all.

unfortunately, the best chance to win a cup was in 03 if it wasn't for cloutier....or the ex-minnesota sniper that is darby hendrickson. 04 was also a bad year to have a lockout for Canucks fans.

and fuck the bandwagoners and 12 year old retards on CDC.
