f you had ever wondered...watch a "normal US broadcast game sometime.... yo will see, the refs call it WAY different! No chincey calls, no "it appeared to be a penalty" calls. No, the teams won't decide who wins! I think, and evidence is there, that the NHL is totally agains the Leafs, Senators, Canadiens, Flames and Oilers. I have NEVER seen such one sided calls as with watching Canadian teams. The only exception is the Canucks. But, as with history, the calls will go against them in the playoffs. Betman has decreed..."No Canadian team shall win the American Stanley Cup" . It is bad for Business. My business. Unless the Canadain teams contribute to the Bettman Governors fund.
Found this in the Leaf Fan Forum. Obviously this guy doesn't know about the Alex Burrows Incident. I doubt the refs were on our side for this game.
We won purely because we were just a better team.

On a side note about the Leafs, it really shocks me that one of the richest clubs in the NHL is ready to dump most, if not all their decent players in an attempt to score some draft picks for the future which by the way will be 2nd or 3rd round picks. So basically the message to the suckers in Toronto is keep paying top dollar for tickets and suffer through another couple of years of “Leafs” hockey.

Iginla's interview is so pleasant to listen to compared to other interviews with jock players who mumble on and on

He is well known for his kind-hearted nature. Former Flames general manager Craig Button described Iginla as being grounded: "he doesn't carry himself with any attitude or arrogance. He's confident in his abilities. He's self-assured. He's genuine. He's a better person than he is a player, and we all know what kind of player he is." In 2002, while in Salt Lake City for the Winter Olympic Games, Iginla struck up a conversation with four Calgarians sitting next to his table, and found out they were sleeping in their car outside of the hotel. He excused himself from the conversation, and booked them accommodations at his own expense at the hotel his family was staying in.
Never can doubt Iginla.

keitaro 01-30-2010 10:37 PM

As a Canuck fan, I hate Iginla because he is good, and gets under our skins. As a hockey fan, I like him. There should be more players out there that should represent hockey like he does. I can't wait to see him play in Team Canada colours in Vancouver.

Go! Canada Go!:D

She's not hot.

I'm tryin to find the words to describe this girl without being disrespectful.

as mentioned before, she is in between cute and pretty. Not beautiful or drop dead gorgeous nor is she hot or sexy. Had a great smile.

You know....... some girls when they close their eyes and let out a low, deep satisfied................ nuff said. I promised to cut that stuff out from my posts.

The Canucks play differently when they know they don't have Luongo back there?

Not over yet, but the game is all of a sudden pretty interesting to watch. Nothing like a comeback...............

I don't think so. It's not like we played shut-down trap-style, no forecheck hockey when Raycroft was in; as evidenced by 4 out of our 5 goals (the odd 1 was Burrows Short-Hand Goal)

Lu just plain straight up had a bad game. I Hope he brings it hard next game though.

SumAznGuy 01-31-2010 12:53 AM

What's the likely hood that Raycroft will stick around for another season being the backup goalie?

I know it's early, but I predict Gillis might not resign Wellwood since AV has no love for him.
And will they resign Demitra?

If they allow those 2 to walk, that frees up over $5M in cap space for them to resign Kesler and Raymond.

Also, they need to resign Mitchell, and it would be nice to resign Johnson and Jannik Hansen. Tanner Glass played well enough to make the team, but has he done enough to get another contract?

pure.life 01-31-2010 01:11 AM

was just checking nhlnumbers.com and found out that Raycroft's salary cap with the leafs this season is at $733,000. Basically, the leafs paid him to play 2 periods at ACC! =)
On the side note, I can't imagine how exuberant Rayzor felt in the last min of the 3rd. Seeing him doing a mini victory lap and waves here and there made must've made him feel real good!

Can somebody explain how this works?
Didn't Raycroft play with the Avs last season? Why aren't the Avs part of this salary thing?
