Whatever,

We have just as many gold as them, which means we were champions in just as many events as them. That matters more to me.

So are the partys and stuff still going on for the pair olympics? I haven't really heard much about that yet.

Tempted to fail...but I won't. :p

these olympics shows what a world city vancouver can be.

Wish it last...cuz Vancouverites will have a HUGE withdrawl once the party dies down.

I was thinking about that yesterday - just a handful of days left. I hope we see the patriotism, sense of community and unity, long after the games. I'm already excited to throw the flags up once Canada and BC day roll around.

I've heard LOTS of stories of visitors planning return visits based on what they've seen over the last couple weeks.

That said, two weeks is probably just about right for a big spread-out party like this to start winding down without getting "tired". Heck, even Mardi Gras is only once a year.

True, but the sad fact is this is probably once in a life time for Vancouver. :(

I'm making a blanket statement here, but I think that people who live here have been too narrow and insular even though we continue to believe that we are a world-class city. We now have a sense of civic pride in the region and the challenge is for the local politicians, civic planners, and business leaders to keep people engaged.

Canada's Women's curling advances to the final against Sweden!
Nice final shot, too!

You know what I just kind of realized that is really cool about the olympics?

There is absolutely no commercial advertising of any kind in any of the competition venues... Even the Dasani water bottles have their labels removed...

I think that's awesome, it really makes the focus on the sport.

Hondaracer 02-25-2010 11:27 AM

^ in GM place the little "ad sense" logos on the ad holders above the urinals have tape over their logo lol

Our Father whom art in Vancouver,
Hockey be thy name.

Thy will be done, the gold will be won,

On ice as well as in the stands.

Give us this day, our hockey sticks,

And forgive us our penalties as we forgive those who cross check against us.

Lead us not into elimination

But deliver us to victory.

In the name of the Canadian hockey team,
AMEN!

█♥█ GO
CANADA GO █♥█
