Anyone ever try Chicken Now down in the South Gate Centre food court? One of the best fried chicken I've ever had.

My brother and I get extra chicken from LA Chicken every time I go. We're tight with the chicken lady there, she called my brother "ok looking" once.

I agree. Especially if it's freshly made.

Churches is great if you can get it fresh. However with so many "ethnic" groups working there I dont trust it "to go" anymore. The old white guys wont try to give u old chicken.

Just ask for fresh chicken and they will give it to you. Man I love the spicy chicken tenders. They are so fricken good.

sindragon 01-05-2012 10:14 PM

I hope you guys are not talking about LA chicken on 5 and cambie... shit has old oil taste in it and is gross

Small pieces and there is way better Korean fried chicken.

But in the end I'll eat any kind of fried chicken.

gdoh 01-06-2012 08:37 AM

the only problem i have with churches is sometimes the chicken is so oily

I'm not even joking but the last time I saw somebody who isn't Filipino work at Churches was over 5 years ago. I'm not trying to be funny and stereotype but I'm dead serious. With that said, I've only been to 3 locations in the last 5 years or so, Fraser and 41st, Lougheed by Gilmore, and Hastings and Nanaimo which I go to 90% of the time.

I haven't really tried Chicken World, LA, nor Have I even had KFC since Highschool. It's pretty much always Churches for me, 10 Piece Spicy Thighs + Gravy.

My other Fried Chicken fix I guess is the chinese shiet like "Fung Sa" Chicken Wings or just your regular "Jiu yeem" chicken wings. Or if you consider it then the Taiwanese "Yeem So" Chicken.

We Filipinos love our fried chicken dating back to Jollibee ChickenJoy yo. That or America GI Joe brought it in or something.

Criticizes chicken from a location and says there are better.

No mention of better places.

Zabu Chicken
(604) 602-0021
Robson Street/West End
1635 Robson Street

They fry the chicken when ordered. Taste is pretty good. Reminds me of Lee's fried chicken. Something different from churches and kfc. It's a trek downtown though. They are open till like 2am. Serve alcohol too.

Obsideon 01-07-2012 11:22 PM

Interesting Fact: LA Chicken in Richmond used to be Lee's Chicken ... and it is hands down THE best fried chicken, it's a tad pricey but the lady there always gives extra pieces if you are nice to them so it evens out :fuckyea:

neggo 01-07-2012 11:28 PM

I had LA chicken for dinner tonight with 6 of my buddies. All of us got an extra piece. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!

willystyle 01-08-2012 01:09 AM

Is their chicken more like KFC or Church's?

rageguy 01-08-2012 05:07 AM

Can't wait to try LA Chicken. Do they accept Visa/MC? Do they open late?

CorneringArtist 01-08-2012 07:48 AM

^ Richmond, so I'd assume it might be cash only. Doesn't hurt to bring plastic just in case.

Anyone know if Lee's Chicken in Surrey is the same as the other ones???

pintoBC_3sgte 01-08-2012 09:24 AM

i dont know why i keep checking this thread... it always makes me want some good fried chicken!!!! DAMNIT!!! lol

i miss churches, all we have in kelowna is kentucky :(
