At least next year class is only 4 days a week for 4 hours a day. Can finally hop back into a job and try to work like 15 - 32 hours.

Retaking macro. I delayed my graduation so I could retake some courses. Down for meet, I picked up a new ride today! :D

Will be on campus on Tuesday and Wednesday. Maybe Monday too. Final on Thursday tho. Set up a date and time, and I'll make time for it.

Wait till sept :p

Or we could just meet up outside of BCIT. Should get some BCIT stickers made, so at RS meet, we'll be easy to find. Also just realized that at summer meet, I won't be rolling in with the civic. Wow time flies.

Based on the VCC fb page, seems to be a lot more car people at school now. Too bad we never had that meet, and I never had that car show.

Who's paying for parking?

meme405 09-07-2017 12:47 PM

I passed by BCIT yesterday. They paved the lot by NE1. Jesus christ. looks like half the parking there was before... GG BCIT folks.

Looks like I will be taking 2 online courses this semester. Then upping it to 3 or 4 in January after CFA exam, since I started work full-time now. I miss going to school already.

Yeah I never thought I'd have FOMO of BCIT. I'm in the exact same position.

If there's any new or 2nd year BCIT student in here ready to give up on life, don't. Keep trying.

I realized the most important BCIT lesson today: The grind.

I had a 12 hour work day today, due to unrealistic client expectations. Having said this, you must be thinking, "I bet he procrastinated". Nope, I've been working on this project all week, and an employee (who is key to the project) decided not to show up a week.

Already sounds like BCIT right? Well when I reached hour 9 or 10 of the work day, I started to realize that this just felt normal - like a regular day at BCIT. I mean I've had way worse, 8 exams in a span of 4 days, no sleep, that kind of deal.

When you're upset that BCIT gives you a bunch of busy work to purposely stress you out, just take it. You'll be way more satisfied you didn't take the easy way out when you start to work full time.

My program is down from 35 students at the start to 5 for this final year.

BCIT grind is real.

Actually to rephrase, I don't miss the workload. But at the same time, I do like having a busy schedule while working towards a bigger goal. I miss hanging out with my classmates / meeting new people every week or two. I've made some good friends over the year throughout the diploma. I'm excited to meet new people in the degree program.

With studying and working full-time. I can't wait to have a < 60 hour work week and hopefully get paid more too lol. The thought of going home and not having to cook dinner and study and just focus on gymming and hanging out with friends is almost attainable. Getting to daily my S/o's S2000 to work definately helps though. :nyan:

BIC_BAWS 09-21-2017 10:43 PM

I miss being busy. At BCIT it felt like I was always busy and I always had shit to do, whether that be school work, club stuff, or extra curics. Some degree grads that I talked to actually mentioned the same things. You don't know what to do with your time. I really do miss the little social interactions that we had. BCIT gives you a great opportunity to develop intimate relationships with your peers.

Any chance you drove that S2K to school?

With working full time, I've learned that the after-tax result of working 60hrs biweekly and 80 hours biweekly, is fundamentally the same paycheck. FeelsBadMan

Gerbs 09-23-2017 01:40 AM

No, I'm learning stick with it as if recently. It's a white ap2.

What did you mean by 60 vs 80 hours Is the same after taxes?

Oh you didn't know stick before? Damn, learning on an s2k and doing a daily commute, that's rough. Rip hill start cause no tq.

If I work 60 hours vs 80 hours per pay period, the after tax difference is roughly the same. I think it's about a $100-200 difference.

From what I remember at my Cineplex job, any paycheck over ~ $1000 got taxed way heavier (~$200) compared to a paycheck ~$900 (~ $50-100 in tax) Of course, these are the tax brackets, which you probably know way better than I do.

Point is, tax sucks. You work more, you get taxed more, which ends up being the similar dollar value of working less.

I learned on a 240sx in highschool. But you kind of don't fully learn it till you have a manual car yourself. Feels so good to hit all the downshifts before take a turn lol. The torque is pretty decent on the ap2. Decent enough for city just gotta ring it out more in the lower gears.

The small pay difference in your tax return is cause when you work OT it's taxed as If you consistently make that amount throughout the year. But obviously If the OT isn't consistent you will get the excess taxed amount back in the tax return. Not sure if you know that lol. It's always better to work more and earn more. How else are we going to afford the fun toys.

FUCKKKKK SOMEONE JUST HIT MY BUDDY'S CAR AT SCHOOL (AND LEFT) WTF
Attachment 29340

EDIT: The person left a note. I know this going to sound racist, but OF COURSE it was an asian lady driving a range rover. All the fancy cars we see on campus are usually owned by a PT student. Typical.

There should be security footage from those ball things. Did he ask campus security? That's a clean itr too...

He got plate info from a witness (thank god), and the person left a note. Can you even ask campus security for stuff like that?

Update: hood is dented as well as bumper. The other party thinks it's NBD, cause the bumper was already scratched ffshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...4008dcedc1.jpg

If the itr shares the same hood as integras , then the replacement is no big deal lol
