This commute should be interesting. The main roads should be ok to drive on. But those side streets are gonna be tricky. Take it easy people.

Too late for me now. My usual 30-35 min commute home took 80 mins today. What I don't get is why they gave southbound traffic the counter flow lane thru the tunnel. From what I saw, southbound was moving smoothly while northbound was at a standstill.

News freaking out over freezing temps. :fuckthatshit:

Yes I know apples and oranges. ;)

DragonChi 12-12-2016 05:00 PM

First time that I can remember, that traffic is backed up all the way up the hill on Scott road in Surrey.

AzNightmare 12-12-2016 05:37 PM

Ridiculous. The Home Depot in Richmond had a big shipment of salt this morning. Over 500 in stock. I'm about to get off work and get some and now there's 4 left, and quantity is probably not even accurate. lol.

Not sure... I assume that's the good one.

I picked up a bag of 20kg a few days ago for $22.
But the 10kg one costs $9/each... lol. I thought it's usually better value the bigger quantity you go...

I would pick up a few bags of the 10kg one if I can find it in stock.

Akinari 12-12-2016 06:15 PM

Well that was a fucking horrendous commute home from work. Doesn't help that I got off in the early afternoon when the Massey Tunnel counterflow lanes had yet to open

The Alaskan Ice Melt is supposedly better because it causes less damage to the concrete on your property and it's not as bad for dog's paws

acurael 12-12-2016 07:00 PM

Petsmart still had some ice melt. Been calling around everywhere since last week and CDN tire, Home Depot Walmart and everyone sold out. Checked this thread and found gold.
Fell and fractured my arm this am trying to shovel my steep driveway. Needed salt ASAP. Bad winter this year.

murd0c 12-12-2016 07:26 PM

The best part is it's still fall since it's not winter for another week :troll:

fliptuner 12-12-2016 08:00 PM

Yup. It's still fall, boys. Looking forward to longer days.

Snow in Fall, summer like weather in Winter. Welcome to Vancouver. :D :awwyeah:

MG1 12-12-2016 09:32 PM

See this is what bothers me a bit. Winter starts on the shortest day of the year. Well, to me, that should be the middle of winter. Longest day should be the middle of summer, not the start of summer. I know the solstice idea...............Anyway, carry on carrying on.

Grab a large tea as well :troll:

Now now, sometimes having a bunch of snow isn't bad. I mean, if you live on top of a mountain and you have willing friends, fun can still be had. :fullofwin:

Slightly NSFW inside spoiler

Just sayin'. ;)

This video is almost 3 years old (probably posted already somewhere in this 182 page thread), but someone just showed it to me today...

:lawl: Hilarious, especially if you've never seen it before.
