I don't understand how some drivers think this is a safe way to drive during the snow. -seen this several times during the snowy weather in December including this afternoon: A lady drives her Corolla at 20K in the left lane, northbound on Knight street. Car's emergency flashers are on. Other drivers speed by her while it's raining and snowing. :lawl: |
Not sure which one you're complaining about lol 20km corolla for holding up traffic... or the impatient idiots going flying by her. |
I wonder if grouse mountain owner suddenly has change of heart and is not going sell it anymore? :awwyeah: |

On a side note, was hooning earlier (in my winter tire 4WD) and got overconfident. Understeered and panic braked so the ABS kicked in. Could've been bad! In hindsight if I had just let off the brake the weight shift may have allowed me to regain traction I think. Not gonna post that dashcam video hehe |
i saw the most unbelievable thing tonight... a bmw x6m being driven responsibly on winter tires! ... but i lie. it was just sitting there spinning its wheels blocking the underground entrance to crystal mall halfway over the center line so that it was effectively in the way of all directions of traffic. we were all forced to drive around him like he was a roundabout while he floundered around while the traction control chattered away  but something else made my night... very hot asian girl in stiletto boots and a black sequined mini crossing kingsway and willingdon as if it was dry and sunny day like a boss. she was going to make that new year's party no matter what.... i really wish i had a dash cam. |
lols I went to Home Depot this afternoon cause online inventory said salt was in stock... But there was none to be found when I got there. A staff said a new shipment was on it's way and if I just wait around, I could get some. I waited about 15 mins or so and noticed other shoppers were told the same and waited around the door. Finally, one pallet arrived, and people went nuts like it was like Black Friday or Boxing day. http://i.imgur.com/KGs7Rqm.jpg :lawl: |

Corolla drivers in general always drive at that speed sunny or snowy :troll: |

People properly equipped for these conditions are fully capable of maintaining near speed limit speeds. Same shit happened tonight on HWY 1 over the port mann into coquitlam.. some fucking Odyssey in the left lane cruising at like 65.. ok down Johnson hill, sure it was kinda slick, slush on the roads.. you have no right as a responsible driver to remain in the left lane doing 65 once the roads are clear because you feel that is suitable for the conditions..thats what the right lane is for. Straight up, pulling shit like this is so fucking dangerous for me/everyone else lined up behind me waiting to pass.. for me to have to drive through slush TWICE to change lanes and pass on the right should not happen. |
Not really sure why you failed me since I was asking a question, but whatever. He said "speeding past her", implying doing over the speed limit. Hence my comment of impatient idiots. And I never said she was in the right, dumbass should have been in the right lane or even better, not on the road. |
Corolla have two modes of drive. Max 1500rpm Over 7000rpm because vvti race car |
Nothing in Surrey for the last 2 hours. Supposed to snow again over night. |
corolla is king |
It was snowing in north surrey all day. Tapered off in the evening. |
I was just around the central city area of surrey and it's mainly slush and compact snow/ice. Earlier around 5pm I saw a red explorer do a 4 wheel slide into the curb. I guess he though his 4wd would allow him to drive like it was just raining. I also saw an xtrail understeer into a Escalade which was waiting to take a right turn. It was such a gong show around 5 in North Surrey. |
How are the roads in Langley? Specifically Walnut Grove area. |
As an 09 manual Corolla owner with studded winter tires, and nearly 20 years with zero at-fault accidents, and countless speeding tickets I'm my youth, I don't get the stereotype. Perhaps because Toyota is the biggest auto manufacturer and the Corolla one of it's biggest sellers, the numbers are big, but no bigger a percentage than other vehicles. Much like how Leaf fans get a bad rep. Its not like the percentage of bad fans is greater than other fan bases, but the overall numbers are because there are just more of them than most. |
Sounds like something a shitty Corolla driver would say. :troll: |
This evening on Hwy 1 from Lynn Valley down the hill, around 5:45, there was considerable slush build up, but the highway was basically water, aside from between the lanes. The whole hill was backed up because a flatbed tow truck(with a car on the back) was going 30km/h on the left lane, WITH HIS HAZARD LIGHTS ON, and a Pontiac Grand Prix was closing in on the right lane, almost equally slow. I was like hell naw, luckily I had so much space to get around the tow truck loool. The dude that was behind me before I passed the tow truck left maybe a 1 km stopping distance, from him to me. I was wondering why there was absolutely no one in the left lane LOLLLLL |
They closed Golden Ears way.. I think as long as you are along highway#1 you are fine.. I also notice all the roads around the Casinos.. StarLight, HardRock etc are very well groomed!! Quote:

I think it is observational bias for Asians who grew up in the 80s - 90s.. Gold colour cars were popular as it represents wealth and Corolla were popular because it was reliable, people just age with their cars!.. and it just perpetuates.. just like the Camry dent. Quote:
|
No! the speed limit is designed for optimal conditions. ie dry daylight hours.. even if you are properly equipped your stopping distance still won't match optimal conditions (not to mention visibility etc). Quote:
