Just cause they weren't shown fighting for salt, doesn't mean they weren't rude.
Safe to say, I am sure all races alike have their flaws.

Fighting for free "salt", which is basically 90% sand. Attention millennial Chinese in Vancouver. Please don't be afraid to tell your elders what an embarrassment to society they are.

fliptuner 01-05-2017 11:19 AM

I should invest in sod and seed now cause there are going to be a lot of fucked up lawns in a few months.

dbaz 01-05-2017 11:20 AM

lets be honest.. who didnt see this coming?

roopi 01-05-2017 11:23 AM

As an Albertan I really hope there are some Salt Riots in Vancouver soon. :D

After yesterdays debauchery what did Mayor Moonbeam think would actually happen differently today?
If you're gonna give the stuff out then plan to have a system in place that allows for some sort of distribution process, not a free-for-all mayhem. What an embarrassment.

thumper 01-05-2017 12:03 PM

has anyone noticed mayor moonbeam's absence? is he holidaying in the tropics somewhere?

back on topic:

I was watching the news a couple nights ago and they showed a mini street cleaner cleaning the bike lanes and a a few seconds later they showed a clip from the seawall which was covered with ice and people slipping all over the place. Talk about priorities.

That 0.5% Property Tax hike to deal with the Fentanyl crisis seems to be more important that snow clearing for the city.

godwin 01-05-2017 12:23 PM

For those looking for salt the CT near Ikea will have salt on Saturday.

Apparently each pallet has 56 bags.. they had 8 last time.

What I really don't understand is why the citizens think they have to rely on the city to supply salt. It is their own fault, they are not prepared.

Don't have salt and have inches of thick ice? That's too bad.. either hire someone or use your damn hair dryer.

ImportPsycho 01-05-2017 12:24 PM

I hope they know it's not edible. LOL

"hey grandma, salty fish taste funny today"

godwin 01-05-2017 12:32 PM

Don't forget urea ie piss is one of the ingredients of Alaskan Ice

Towed to clear the road. Technically they are in violation but trying to be nice and no formal complaints. More pics to come

This was brought up on CBC radio and the host took the councilor in charge to task as to why it is. He had no good reason.

Mupltile people phoned in and said bike lanes were completely cleared around Olympic village, Stanley park, etc where the walking lanes right beside the bike lanes had been untouched

I have also seen people bitching about the opposite in my FB feed - that the sidewalk was cleared and the bike lane wasn't. I think there's some serious cases of victim syndrome/confirmation bias happening.

Off topic, if anyone can chime in, if there's 2 tenants (families), one upstairs and one in basement, who's responsible for the sidewalk?

Would that fall back on the landlord since there's more than one tenant?

Thanks
