At my parents place in Fraser heights shit was coming down strong still st 8pm and they have like 2+ feet in most places and piles 5'+ for cleared driveways lol. They always have more than most areas but it's crazy there http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psnsojhrcf.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y13...psrdflkqvu.jpg |
Left the north shore heading for Richmond around 6PM - Boundary and Kingsway was a warzone lol |
Rupert and 22nd area was terrible. No problem in my truck but some people were having issues getting out of the side streets. The main streets are no good either. |
moron got his ***AMG GT*** (thanks Instagram commentor) stuck on Cambie, Acura RL to the left joined him too to which they ended up blocking traffic https://scontent-sea1-1.cdninstagram...NTk5OQ%3D%3D.2 |
Saw a bus by Joyce station half crashed up onto a curb tilted over with part of its underside exposed. I'd imagine that was a pretty bad day for the driver lols |
drove from richmond to the north shore @ 9pm to drop le gf home, headed back around 10.30. almost an hour each way, normally an hour to and from. richmond + south van was fine until about 49th. took granville to nvan and boundary home, both had their fair share of stalled cars, but unlike boundary, granville had the 10+ bus stall going on blocking all lanes but 1. once again no plow trucks in sight.. hoping this is all cleared up for the commute to work tomorrow |
tips on getting car out of side of road, anyone? |

yea saw it too. it got beached sideways right on the crosswalk corner  |
Left metrotown around 8:00pm and kingsway was a shitshow. Everyone just slamming on the gas thinking that is how tires will grip in the snow... Coming down Rupurt was fine, despite lots of snow - but saw some abandoned cars going up Rupurt. Deerlake parkway had a bit of traffic as well but got to Hwy 1 in about 5 mins in that stretch of road. Cops were directing traffic in the rupurt/DL pkwy intersection. Majority of Coquitlam just has slushy roads. I'd say winter tires are a must for getting up Westwood Plateau. Too many people spinning out and hitting oncoming traffic around the various bends, going up AND down the plateau. Witnessed two accidents happen in front of me - both involving multiple cars. |
I can't believe all the morons that still drive without winter tires in this weather. http://i.imgur.com/ipd9oID.gif |
Roads aren't too bad right now through Vancouver and Burnaby |
lol i hear a snow plow going down 49th towards SW Marine right now. They're a few hours late to the party. |
Can't be too hard to upload a vid, right? I found the footage of my Ridgeline pulling the poor Mercedes out of trouble. EDIT: Hope it works, lol. |

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tactical-Cam...-/291946572019 There are better ones out there. Some have multiple use features built in. I can't remember where, but there's a video of one where the Chinese? Army was showing off how much better theirs was compared to the American Army ones. Someone please send link if they find it. As for tow ropes, they are cheap and come in handy. I got my shovel and tow rope from Princess Auto. Just make sure you get a good quality tow rope with well designed hooks and high rated strength. |
Roads weren't too bad. Weird how Lower North Van was pouring rain cats and dogs and Burnaby/Vancouver snowing. |
Drove from Westwood on Barnet to DT.. It is 4C most of the way.. this Pacific Front is pretty strong. There are some pretty good patches of black ice on the upper Johnston/ Plateau Blvd bits.. don't press the brakes until ABS kicks in.. that's bad!! I am out of tow rope for the season.. I usually buy 5 from Princess Auto.. I want to see if they would monogram my next purchase with "A token to remind you that you need winter tires, God Bless!!" as a call back to MG1. I tend to give the tow rope to the person whom I towed. I don't want to pack a wet and stressed rope back in my kit. I see PA ropes as one use wonders. In Vancouver, there is a good chance the person will need another one after I left! |

Up on SFU, it is wet slush. Plows have gone through but some areas are still shit. Lots of abandoned cars on the side of the road which makes it hard to plow cleanly. Coming downtown, there were a few spots on Hastings where people parked overnight and the plows couldn't do their job so the Bus/HOV lane is useless. Plus, people are still acting like it is a holiday today and are still parked in that lane. Going home, east bound on Hastings may be a gong show as the Bus/HOV lane isn't plowed because of the people parked in that lane. |
someone from ontario once told me back when he used to live in missaugua(sp?) they plow trucks would come with a fleet of tow trucks and they would tow away any cars in the way and move then to nearest street, and it would be on the owners to find their own cars? is this trueor is he pulling my leg? |
SNOW!!!!!! *PSA* for Hamilton area in East Richmond, there is a layer of ice on top on the roads and sidewalks right now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
