Then by this logic ... so are all season tires. Everyone should get a set of dedicated summers and a set of dedicated winters?

I think there is a niche for all weather tires.

Was driving on Marine towards Knight bridge and saw an older model C class with half of its windshield and its whole hood still covered in snow, the car pulled into the left turn lane and was waiting for the left turn signal to get on the bridge. The driver (or passenger?) from the car in front of it got out and wiped everything clean on the windshield.

I love how they have the money to afford putting their kids into private school but didn't bother to stock up on salt.

Or pay someone to maintain their sidewalks free of snow/ice.

Sure but Material science is not magic. You can not wish things without some kind of compromise.

Winter Tire needs to be soft in cold, but in hot it will start to be too sticky.
Summer tires are soft in hot, but in winter it gets turns hard.

Plastics works in a temperature range and wear range.. basically it is a balance.

New All Seasons M&S first layer is winter capable. You just don't want to use it after you have wear it in.

Winter weather bringing out the worst in some people, says expert - NEWS 1130

Oh and more free salt at Firehall!!

“Is salt an issue of survival at this moment? Absolutely not. But really, our brain starts to interpret even small threats as extreme, even dangerous triggers,” says Samra, a clinical psychologist in Vancouver.

She adds there can be a number of triggers in our day-to-day lives. “The vast majority of things that create stress and extreme responses for us are not life-threatening. It’s the way we’re wired as humans. Most of us can relate to going through our day-to-day life and feel like we’re responding in kind of extreme and unmatched ways.”

Spoiler!

If anyone is looking to get their tire mounted and balanced, I got a guy named Greg off Craigslist who does it in his garage at your convenience for cheap. Did a good job mounting my 15" steelies at 8pm at night, he's located in surrey by patullo bridge. $60 cash... I called around and everyshop was booked till next week and was getting quoted $120+

Lol I went to this guy 2 weeks back to mount tires on steelie.

Apparently he learned how to mount and balance off YouTube. Most of the weights he did not have in stock. Had to re-use some old one, or cut new ones in half, or combine 2 to make it work.

The machines he has are good shit though. If I had a garage I'd love to invest in some used machines like he has. I dick around enough with wheels that the price would be evened out after a couple of years of just me, not including any CL / friends business

If anyone is still looking and doesn't want to deal with a dude in a garage - Pitt river auto service in PoCo mounted mine for $100 cash deal, super friendly persian guy owns the shop. Cheapest I could find in tri cities.

While I would not bring my 19" rims to him, steelies for cheap and at your convenience he seem to do a good job... and he did have stock of all the weights this time
